x ray interpretation

i had a chest x ray,what would cause a density to show up on a lateral xray with no correlate on the frontal projection.i am a smoker,but i show no signs of any type of problems.had the xray as part of routine physical.it states ill defined density superimposed on the cardiac silhouette,no correlate on pa exam......any help would be greatly appreciated......im lost
