I do not have easy access to health care right now, but I am wondering if this is something that should be checked out. A friend is insisting that these are symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis and need to be checked out. I am not sure about her advice as the symptoms seem so mild to me.

Maybe a few times a year, I will have sharp pain in my eyes—different from the overuse ache I can get. Sometimes the pain is more pronounced in one eye and is fleeting, other times it involves both eyes lasts for part of a day. The pain seems to be on one side of the eye, not involving the iris.
At times, I will have a sharp pain in my thumb on a pinch, usually accompanied by stiffness and mild soreness in both hands. I don’t lose range of motion, just some stiffness in moving the joints. The stiffness will last for hours, if not all day during these spells. These episodes usually last for a few days, during which time I treat it with NSAIDs, heat and ice. Then everything will calm down for a while, weeks if not months.
Thank you for your help.
