Skin rash (Hives) as potential ARS?

Hi doctor,

I do have another question and concern (which bothers me) in relation to my post previously from the link below:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs---International/My-STD-Results-at-13-weeks/show/1209730

Two days ago I had a skin rash (hives), which started from my left foot and worked it's way up to the knee and thigh, I don't know what caused it as it just appeared all the sudden, it just started itching and then burning that night. I started scratching. The hive or swelling on my knee was pretty considerable. I slept it off, I woke up and it was gone. Then yesterday night, it started to itch again but this time it was on my back, neck, a few on my chest and thigh. I think the hives started appearing after I started scratching and it burned. The following morning it was gone (today). I'm really concerned and worried thinking that it may be a potential ARS -- because I do not know where the hives came from as I never had hives this considerable before. I have had them last year but never this bad. Although I know yesterday and the day before I was feeling a little tired and sleepy.

This skin rash occured at 17 weeks at a possible exposure from unprotected oral. As I have outlined in my previous post, I took an STD test at 14 weeks post exposure, my HIV 1 and 2 screen antibody test came negative.

I understand you adviced me not to take any further tests. But in light of recent events, with the skin rash (hives) appearing, should I take another HIV 1 and 2 antibody test for reassurance? If so, can you please suggest what kind of HIV antibody test to take?

Please advise.

I am really SO worried again.

Hello

You do not have HIV. Hives by their very nature do come and go - thats how they behave. They are hives, not HIV.

You do not need another test.

best wishes, Sean

Update -- this is my third night and my groin started itching, the hives started appearing again but on my groin area this time, and one spot at my back again. I'm almost sure they'll go away tomorrow morning but they seem to be coming back every night for the past two days.

I am SO very very worried now.
