Antibiotics effect on VDRL/RPR tests

Hi

I would like to know antibiotics effect on VDRL/RPR tests

1st test- was on cipro(for a 1 week) and azithromycin (for 3 days )  1 week before the test and Pencillin injection previous day of the test... RPR Non Reactive

2nd test- was on Clarytromycin (for 10 days ) before 1 month and was on 3rd day of doxycycline(for 14 days ).. VDRL Non Reactive

Currently on Augementin (10 days ) ,will be going in to test after 1 week after the course completion

Will it be false negative? How long should i wait ?

thank you. Can herpes cause chronic sore throat for one year. I believe i got it giving oral sex to a csw last year. I have chronic sore throat from then. I never had sores on lips. Sores were present back of throat which always were diagnosed as pharyngitis.

Testing positive for HSV1 really doesn't mean anything.  About 80% of the population has oral herpes (I am assuming your positive HSV-1 means oral herpes).  Testing positive for HSV-1 does not delay seroconversion. Don't worry about increase risk of hiv from it -- you had to have an outbreak for that to apply.

just got my herpes results . I tested positive for hsv 1 ígg.  what does it mean? Will herpes cause delayed seroconversion? Or increase the risk of hiv of hiv transmission?

tested negative for HIV,VDRL,HEPC and HEP B @ 83 days and 16 hours post exposure.. awaiting Herpes test results

No condoms do not always protect because people don't use them correctly and they break. Someone will not get HIV from using a condom with no breakage.

I can tell you know more because as I have said this is not STD related.

Thanks 4 replying vance ,I know ,Protected sex is suppose to be safe and 6 weeks negative after my protected encounter,i should have moved on  ..But with all the symptoms and i have read condoms are not 100% and i have also read in aidsmeds who just tested postive stating they always used condoms .Docs here in india state the same that condoms dont always protect against HIV

Please answers my above question and also i wondering what are the odds of STD & STD transmission if a person touches the outer surface of the condom tip(to check for breakage) and then touches tip of the penis to wash it

Am getting married in 2 months, its just that i dont want to infect my fiancee with HIV or any other STD.I know am being annoying now but hope you understand my postion

I will not assume you got Trich from oral sex because you can't.

Why don't you understand that protected sex is safe sex?

Asumming i got Trichomoniasis through oral from my first encounter,and since STD increases the risk of HIV transmission ,what are the chances of HIV transmission from protected oral and vaginal sex

Trich is possible but I don't think so due to protected sex.

What do you think about Trichomoniasis,I have been tested for it and sinces its a parasite,antiboitics wont have any effect on it

See/follow up with your Dr, not STD or HIV related.

I tested negative at 6 weeks from my protected vaginal and oral and 6 months negative from my condom break for hiv.. I have these symptoms from my 1st exposure and its not going away.its been a year and am still sick.

Can't be HIV...negative test 6 months after exposure.

And no symptoms seem to be STD related. Sounds more like the flu in Feb.

I would not worry about syphilis from those encounters.

May 2009- Had a unprotected oral and protected vaginal with CSW

Dec 2009- Protected oral and vaginal -Condom broke with CSW

May 2010- Protected vaginal and oral -with CSW

Tested Negative for HIV (6 weeks from last exposure and 6 months from the condom break) and VDRL Non reactive (5.5 weeks from last exposure)

have had sore throat which started with 1st encounter, had rashed in feb 2010, joint,muscle pain,fever,painful lymph nodes

I say wait at least 2-3 weeks. What was your exposure that makes you think of syphilis?

All the treatment was for Chronic Pharyngitis and Chronic Sinusitis

Am not sure whether the pencillin given was  pencillin -G and whether it was 2.4 million units?

How long should i wait after my course of Augementin antibiotics ? will be going in to test after 1 week after the course completion

1st- Not sure about the 1st 2 medications but the pencilin has a good chance to cure a possible syphilis infection.

2nd- Since you had been injected with penicilin if you had syphilis possibility of it being cures.

Why were you on all of those different medications?
