Augmentin 500 mg and Gonorrhea

I am almost sure I got gonorrhea. I have a yellowish thick penile discharge and a slight burning with urination. Since I could not see a dcotr yet, I started taking augmentin 500 mg that I had at home, but read that I should take a unique does o 3 g. am I supposed to take 6 tablets of 500 mg or what? I would rather take one 500 mg tablet each 8 hours for a couple of days. Any advice? (while I cannot see a doctor)

make sure you follow up with full std testing at the proper times that are listed in our read before posting post on the forum. at this point you will never know if you actually had a std or not accurately but you can follow up on the test of your testing to be sexually responsible.

Thank you very much, Grace! You are absolutely right. I went to the doctor and he gave two shots, one that same day and the other on the following one. He told me that the second shot was because I had started this "self-imposed" treatment and the bacteriae could have won resistance...
Augmentin did stop the discharge the first day I took it though, but it was obivously not a solution.
Thank you very much for your advice. It made me try harder to see a doctor!
IN two weeks I shall have to repeat the urine analysis.

you should NEVER take antibiotics willy nilly like this! it's never in your best interest.

stop your antibiotics immediately, wait one week and go for proper testing. your future fertility could be affected by this so it's well worth the proper testing and treatment.

augmentin isn't effective for gonorrhea any more anyways. you are wasting your time and risking your health!
