Burn while peeing

My partner (a girl) has weird "almost burn like" feelings when peeing as she describes it.She did a bit of research on it and found that it could be a urinary tract infection. She is not sure though and thinks that it could be a matter of not washing up properly after unprotected sex.

I think it could be an issue of not washing up properly BEFORE unprotected sex.
I need help please!

Thank you for all your help.Really appreciate it.

She has seen her doctor and it turned out not to be a serious infection. She is now on antibiotics and the pain has now gone.

We shall keep in mind all your excellent advice.

Oh lots of things can.  Holding your urine, as in needing to pee but waiting to go, not enough water, sex (pushes bacteria into the female, which ends up in the bladder), wiping back to front instead of front to back, not peeing after sex, and sometimes it just happens.

Thank you.i will be sure to let her know.
If you dont mind me asking Aj, what then is the cause of the possible UTI?

Sounds like a UTI to me, and it has nothing to do with washing before or after sex.

She needs to see her doctor, though, as she'll need an antibiotic if its a UTI.

She also says that she can control herself from peeing but after she pees it feels like there is still some more to pee.

Any help would be great,
Thanks
