Burning Sensation at Tip of Penis

I know a lot of people have posted articles about a burning sensation in their penis, but I've read through them and their situations were different from mine.

About eight months ago, I had unprotected oral sex. The very next day I began feeling a burning/itching sensation at the tip of my penis. There were no bumps, rashes, nor discolorations. At first I thought it was just irritation from my underwear, but each day the burning got progressively worse. I started to freak out and on about the third day I called the girl and told her what I was having and asked her if she had an std. She denied it, of course. So, I called my doctor and asked to get checked out. I had to wait nearly a week to see him, though.

When I finally met with my doctor he checked me out. I told him there has been no bumps, rashes, or discharges, but that I was afraid it might be herpes. He said he doubts that it's herpes because I had no lesions, and advised me NOT to get tested for herpes. Instead, I was tested for all of the other std's and was given a urine test. The std tests all came back negative, and the urine test said that I had a "low-grade" bacterial infection. My doctor perscribed me azithormycin, which started reducing the pain almost immediately. About a week later, the pain was completely gone.

This past November, (about 4 months later) the burning came back. Since that first incident, I have not had sex at all. I tried scheduling another appointment with my doctor, but he wasn't available, so I had to go to another doctor. I told him everything that happened the first time I had the burning sensation and that I'm still afraid it might be herpes since I technically never got tested for that. This doctor also doubted it was herpes because once again, I had no lesions. And, just like the last doctor, he advised against getting tested for herpes. So I did another urine test and this time it came out negative, there was no infection in my urine. He suggested I get tested for Chlamydia and Ghonorrea, but he said that it was most likely stress that was causing the burning.

The tests came back negative, and the burning went away after  a few days with no treatment.

Now, the burning has come back for a third time. This time it's as bad as the first time. I've also noticed a small purple discoloration right inside the tip of my penis (where my urine comes out). This is where the burning seems to be coming from, but it doesn't hurt to the touch. It feels more like the burning is under the skin, not on top of it.

I've also noticed that the burning gets worse when I sit for long periods of time. and if I sit for too long, then my testicles start to tingle. I've set up another appointment with my first doctor, but once again I have to wait a week to see him.

I'm starting to freak out now. I've been to two different doctors who both don't think it's herpes and won't to test me for it. One said it was an infection, the other said it was stress. I don't know who to believe, and neither of them were able to make this burning go away.

Does anyone know what this could be, or what I can do about it?

I am having similar symptoms. I had unprotected sex with a girl who just had an STI check and had no STIs. I have had no discharge or bumps form, but for almost 7 weeks I have had a pretty strong burning sensation on the front side of my penis head. I have gone in and got tested twice for STIs and have come up disease free both times. I have taken antibiotics twice since they initially thought it was a non STI bacterial infection although that didnt help with the pain. I went to a urologist and dermatologist and both did not know what it was, but said it was unlikely any STI and advised to take it easy and avoid any and all unnecessary contact, rubbing, oils/soaps/lotions for two weeks. We will see if that helps. This is obviously an old question you posted and I am not sure if you check anymore, but have you had any relief and/or any new answers to what was plaguing you? I am beginning to panic that this might not go away.

Its simply bcos of Body heat. Avoid tea and coffee. Have Aloe vera, and fruits which keeps your body cool.

Applying sandal paste in the tip, will give immediate relief.

From experiences of my own and those of several other female and male friends... There is no test for a man for BV Bacterial vaginosis...(foul fishy Oder for a woman exactly 3 weeks after being infected... Also, won't even show positive in a test unless it's been three weeks) And most doctors from planned parenthood will tell you that a man can't get BV, etc...But I am 100 percent positive that a man most definitely can become a carrier of BV unless he takes the same prescription of metronidazole pills as a woman would. I've watched this happen over and over where only the female would be treated... Then getting reinfected several times! Until finally myself and other girlfriends would tell doctors we lost the metronizadole medication, give it to treat are partners... Take new medication that replaced the lost one... And guess what... We never ever became infected again. Fking doctors! Need to fking research this more! I've been watching this happen for the past 22 years!  It makes me so angry that it's been so many years and just recently a girl friend of mine went through this as she was told that she and new partner were allergic to eachother.... Very common ******** to hear that from a doctor when a bacterial vaginosis test comes back positive. There is no fking such thing as being allergic to your partner! The man has to be treated! This guy could be experiencing BV symptoms as in the milky itritattting painful discharge . I've heard of these same symptoms from guys I've known. There are several men out there who have become carriers of BV and who don't know it. It's very easy to treat this with antibiotics. I don't care if I'm not a doctor... I know from experience.

Without any outbreaks doubt that it is herpes and with your negative STD tests I would have to say this is not STD related. No STD is going to have symptoms come and go like they have with you. Not sure exactly what it could be.
