Burning and Itching... mayhaps Bacterial Vaginosis?

Alright, I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced something similar to this situation...

Currently my Vagina is sore and red, it is not having any unusual discharge or smell. It just feel irritated, the pain is however mostly on the Labia and the area in between the anus. If I leave if alone it begins to subside but if it is touched  (masturbating, bathroom, sexual play... etc) it becomes red and painful again. This has been happening for the past week.

I very recently became sexually involved with a new partner who is in fact clean, the last time I had a different partner the same thing happened. About a week into becoming intimate I began to have discomfort. I went to the doctor the first time and they tested me for many things and had no idea what it was the eventually just gave me an anti-inflammatory cr

It could be too much sex in too short of a time, but I would think things would be getter better by now.

Or it could be yeast or bv, or something like chlamydia.  If he's had partners before you, then its possible that he has it and just doesn't know it.

You should get this checked.

It could be a yeast infection...very common after being on antibiotics or a bacterial infection. Both can cause itchiness and burning. Often times with yeast, you have a lumpy discharge (like cottage cheese).  With BV, there is often a smell associated with it especially after having sex.  They are treated with different things, so it would be best if you had a dr check just to be sure.  Just know that BV can be really hard to get rid for good (sometimes it will keep rearing its ugly head).  Grace suggested Fem-dophilus which will help rebuild/balance the healthy bacteria in your vagina.  It can be found in the refrigerated section of your local health food store.  I just treated another round of bacteria, and have been on the Fem-dophilus for a couple weeks.  So far so good.  Good Luck

A few things to add to my body most likely being confused, I currently am finshing up Antibiotics for lyme disease (I still have another week or so to go). Also until a month ago I was a strict Vegan, so I have been reintroducing Dairy, eggs, and a varity of food back into my diet. So I assume that all of those factors could be contributing to my discomfort.

Just today I was at the doc for the same symptoms.  I was diagnosed with BV by testing the PH level which mine was a 7 and normal level is 4.0-4.5.  They also look at your mucus to see if there is bacteria.  The PH level is related to your hormones.  Low estrogen causes higher PH levels.
I think my PH level is so high due to going off the progesterone shot and my body is all out of wack now.  Hope the info helps when talking to your doc.
