CIPRO EFFECTIVE? COMMENTS APPRECIATED

Does anyone know if CIPRO 250mg is effective against gonnorhea?

I went in for what I think was a UTI and am unsure whether the MD thinks it was gonnorhea.
He did not ask me about sexual history but just "assumed" it was a UTI.

Any thoughts on this medication?

Am in Nigeria and have been on cipro bcos Gonorrhea...av taken 500mg 2x for 8days now ...is that effective and how will i know if cipro is working...thanks

I am on CIPRO 250 mg  2x a day for 7 days.  Is that effective?

Cipro was the drug of choice used to treat gonorrhea all over the U.S.  However, in 2005, the CDC revised their treatment recommendations to ceftriaxone, b/c there were a lot of gonorrhea bacteria that were resistant to Cipro.  The old regiment was one oral table of 500mg CIPRO.

It depends on were your located..  I know in California they don't normally fight gonnorhea with Cipro because their are more resistent strains of the virus.

Did your MD test you for gonnorhea or other stds?

Cipro is very effective medicine to fight bacteria type infections.  Depending on the regiment and how long can help.

I am assuming your doctor did urine analysis....
