Can it recurr

Back in Dec.  I posted about molluscum that was removed by laser.  Now six months later a spot has shown up on my side, above my hips near the lower rib cage-  not in the genital area.  This is one reason I did not think it was sexually acquired. . It looks like what was there in Dec..  The only new thing going on is real massage and sharing work out equipment- could that cause this?  It just seems odd that it showed up this late and on this place on my body-

This discussion is related to molluscum contagiosum quesiton.

The saga continues- had one more bump in Dec. 2011- lasered again- and all well.  No sexual activity until summer early fall- than I notice a bump- I think it could be molluscum so I go to the doctor andhe lasers it like before-  I assume I was unlucky and got a new bout form the recent activity, questions:

1) I should test for STD-s to make sure everything else is neg?

2) Is there a way to stop the recurrent bouts I had the last time-  It seemed like I got one every six monthy until this last go round.

you shouldn't be freezing with an at home kit. you risk doing permanent damage to your skin if you aren't doing it right or are doing it needlessly!!!

follow up with your dermatologist as needed.

Everytime I see a red dot or bump I think it is a new molluscum.  Som go away so I am relieved, but others seem to linger- How can I tell if it is gone.  This has been going on now for almost one year since the first was lasered off,  Then a second in May- now, I just worry, that I still have it.  Is it a pimple is it molluscum.  I went to a derm and he said pimple and blocked pores on some bumps, but some that he said were pimples seem to stil lbe haning on- since June- although smaller becasue I have been putting 10% benzol peroxide on them.  Then I get one on my neck- I freak out so I freeze it with a home kit.  Seems to work, but a samll mark left.  I put the cream on it now the area is red and itches- opposite side of my beck I get a red dot- pimple?  or form shaving-  waiting to see.  Then two days let I feel a bump on my chin- is it a pimle coming in or molluscum?  Or infected hair form shaving?  This is maddening.

odds are they are pimples like you suspected.

typically mc runs its course over the course of a few months/years even without treatment so it's doubtful you've had mc for many years and didn't know it.

Thanks for the reply- I had it taken care of- waited for the area to heal- that takes a long time I discovered- but in the mean time, every little dot I see make me worry did it spread here, did it spread there-  I had what I thought were pimples on my chest-for years- I never did much with them as they did not annoy me-they seemed to  last a while but agian thinking it is a pimple I did not care-  I did not check to see when each one healed and assumed that I would just get news ones every so often.  Now I wonder if these were just MC that take longer to disappear on there own all along-

you tried to add to your std expert post but since it was over 60 days old, it got bumped over to here.

can you get mc on non-genital areas and this long after having it removed? Yes you can. be seen and get it taken care of before it spreads elsewhere.   you can actually transmit it almost everywhere on your body :(

Of, course I am assuming it is mollussum.  It would seem that by its position it could be acquired from contact other than sexual- This seems to have come out of no where and I am stumped.  Thanks for the help.

I'm sure that could cause it, but no clue what it is. See a Dr if concerned.
