Chancre

Hi there, I hope someone can help!

A couple of years ago I was treated and cured of syphilis. I had a chancre on my penis that was oval and hard. I did not progress to the secondary symptoms.

I think I may have been exposed to syphilis a second time, two weeks ago. Not because I know or have discovered the person is infected, but because I have a small, red wound in exactly the same place as the last chancre.

Is it possible, or likely to get a chancre in exactly the same place? The chancre is not the same, it isn't hard or oval. It's red and looks shiny as if it were wet.

Thanks for your help guys.

Thank you, I reckon you're right. Having had it once and going through the injections into my backside, several blood tests and a lumber puncture, I guess I'm a little paranoid! It seems to have reduced in size today. I could just be a tear, I've always had them but with it being in the same place as the chancre....

Thanks again.

I'd doubt its syphilis - it doesn't sound like a chancre, and 2 weeks is on the very early side of getting symptoms of syphilis.

I think you need to see your doctor about this.
