Chlamydia

Hey, Had unprotected receptive oral sex 2 weeks ago, about 5 days after my penis felt a bit weird, no pain on urination, no discharge, no itching, but i was urinating a bit more than usual. Went to get it checked out, doctor found 'something' on the swab, said it could be chlamydia though have to wait 2 weeks for the results.

She put me on azithromycin single dose in case it was chlamydia just to treat it.

The advisor there said if it was chlamydia it was unlikely i would have caught it off the woman i had recently had oral sex with. So few questions

1. Could i have caught Chlamydia of her?, advisor seems to think so but most people on here seem to think its highly unlikely, though other websites disagree with that again so bit confused?
2. If i did would antibiotics of killed it off, even if i was outside the incubation period for chlamydia?
3. If i didnt catch it of her last episode of oral sex i recieved was 6 months+ ago would i not have had symptons previous to now?

And also thanks for all the replies in advance, think this site is brilliant lots of helpful, kind people.

Yes, that's normal with NGU.  If it worsens, contact your doctor.

Alcohol could still irritate you, but drink in moderation and you should be ok.  Make sure you are also drinking plenty of water.

Congrats on the negative.

Just had results back all negative well happy with that. Thanks for all the help. Had a shandy to celebrate but washed it down ith pint of water after. Seeing as its NSU is there any difference in advice?will alcohol just irritate me or could it prolong the infection make it worse etc?

You can masturbate, and I might avoid alcohol, at least in large quantities, as alcohol can irritate the bladder, which in turn can irritate the urethra.

If your symptoms aren't gone by say Monday, then follow up with your doctor.

i found the swab terribly painful. the doctor thought i was crazy and was annoyed when i asked him to use gloves before toughing my penis.

i am not a doctor but i suppose some helpful advise could ease your mind.

it is more then possible to have caught it from her (that is to say, if you do have it).

very unlikely, you would have caught it before and then had symptoms suddenly. more then likely, if you caught it, you caught it from her. of course, anything is possible. systematically, it would have shown before a span of 6 months.

this is entirely curable. if you do have this, take the prescribed medication, avoid randoms in the near future, and maybe consider a relationship in the future. much safer way of having fun. cheers friend!

Yeah, I would think the chlamydia would be negative.

You should notice a dramatic improvement in your symptoms in the next few days if its NSU.

Thanks for the advice, considering my two sexual intercoure partners were monogamous and 'clean' the chances are the chlamydia should come back negative?
And the swab was uncomfortable, but to be honest nothing to be scared about.

I was thinking it could be NSU, how long after taking the antibiotics should it be back to normal? Also i have been drinking a lot (water) will this help clear it up?

Yes, at most places.  Do you have your own thread?  We should continue this in your own thread.

So you can avoid a swab test and request a urine test?

You said that the advisor at the clinic didn't think it was likely you got chlamydia from this oral sex encounter, and we agree with that.  If you have chlamydia, its probably from someone else.  You could have NGU/NSU, though.

Yes, the antibiotics will cure chlamydia.  There is no point when the antibiotics won't work anymore.

To SC - the swabs can be uncomfortable, but they only take a few seconds.  Most places are doing urine testing anyway.  Trust me when I say that you can get through a swab test a lot more easily than you can the problems of an untreated std.

To UMSt - I'm not even sure what you mean, but cuts on your body don't mean anything.  Cuts on your genitals could, but I don't see how a cut on my arm or leg would be relevant.  Also, us "common folks" are also infected with stds.  Well over half of people will have an std in their lifetimes, so there is no such thing as a "type" of person that gets stds.  ANYONE can get one if they are sexually active.

hey i had a friend and he got from his ex girlie so it is Possible you got it from her. but listen never have oral if you or the other person has open cuts on their body thats how things get transferred and thats how us common folks end up getting other poeples stds.

I don't have an answer for you, but was the swab test painful?  I am scared to go have one of those.
