DES and cervical dysplasia

I am curious to know what either of you doctors think about the research done on DES and the prevalence of cervical cancer in the daughters of the mothers who took it.It has been printed that DES daughters are high risk for cervical dysplasia/cancer to be watched for.

If your interested Google Diethylsilbestrol and cervical cancer. Some interesting articles there. They pulled it off the market in 1971.Both my gyno in 83  and most recent one did say it was a risk factor in cervical dysplasia but the HPV more prevalent.

I haven't heard anything abt DES causeing cervical dysplasia.  Cervical dysplasia is caused by HPV 99% of the time.  HPV is very common, you have probably been exposed a few times and just never knew it.  I know many of my friends had to have cone biopsies.  At the time, they didn't say anything about HPV being the cause but it had to be.  It's highly contagious and you dont' need to have intercourse to get it.  The cervic is very soft tissue and highly susceptable to HPV, that's why HPV causes the most problems in women's cervic.

So sorry this is in the wrong place.never got an answer on this from Dr.Hook.I found it interesting that he felt i had HPV in 1983 minus seeing my medical records!I have read so much literature on this on wondered if any other women out there had mothers who took this, had dysplasia young or cervical cancer watch young and were very careful with protection with partners.Any input or thoughts Grace? You seem to have so much good knowledge!I also tried to post this to Doctors questions and i guess theres another $15 charge for this?I already got charged twice and am getting credited for one charge. Also saw u can only ask two questions in six months for the price?
