Did I beat Chlam. on my own???

Alright, stemming from my previous post.....

I have been in a relationship for the last 4.5 years. This woman was my first sexual partner. During this time, I had a one night stand and part of me thought I had contracted something. I was not bright enough to take immediate action and thus left everything untreated for over a year.....

My GF tested positive in a pap test/sti test for Chlam. They said he level was rather low.....

I got tested the next day and we both received treatment. I never called to get my results since I know I was the only one to be with a 2nd person. I am her 1st and only.

I went for a follow up today since I was worried..After treatment we waited over 2 weeks to have sex. Following an unprotected encounter I almost immediately noticed some irritation at the tip of my penis. The only fluid I could feel was what I thought was urine, since I had been frequently urinating that day.....

Today I went in to chat with the Doc and found out my test results from a few weeks ago came back NEGATIVE for Chlam. and Gonorrhea....but I had already completed the treatment anyhow.....

So what I wonder is perhaps I had Chlam. since i do recall from time to time some irritation the year following my one night stand...and I passed it to my partner, but since it has been so long, my body had fought off the infection and hers was working on it, being that she had a low level of exposure but we had unprotected sex PLENTY of times over that year.......

So today the doc. didnt prescribe any meds even though I kinda asked for perhaps one more strong dose of antibiotics he said the CDC would frown upon that, thus he didnt need to do it.....

He told me it seems what I have is normal.......and I should just work on passing as much fluid as possible?????

He said if i had Chlam again, symptoms would not show for about 2 weeks, making it unlikely, not feasible that immediately after the encounter the symptoms I had were a reinfection....

I would assume if her level of infection was low and she received the one day treatment thats a sure bet it knocked out what she had...and if I didnt test positive in the swab, and took doxy, i should also be cleared.....

any thoughts on this topic?? I asked about perhaps a UTI....since I definitely feel and irritation..its not painful but it is noticeable when I sit down, less noticeable if at all when I stand...zero trouble or pain urinating and NO milky white discharge, just more what seems to be normal urine drops.....

Is my Doc completely wrong here? Or am I worried over something normal..should i just pass a ton of water??? OR, another scenario which i dont see too possible is this...perhaps Chlam. isnt my problem maybe its something else STI related?? Though my GF was STI tested during a gyno exam so id imagine anything i had would come up on her test and she only had a low level of Chlam. show up......

Regardless i plan on no unprotected vaginal contact for about 2 weeks and I may go back to see him after that for a check up if the symptoms persist...anyone deal with something like this and get some over the counter antibiotics on their own???

As of right now i am drinking about a cup of water every 20 minutes or so and have been urinating a good amount of fluid every 15 minutes or so......going to get some cranberry juice in the next hour or so...

After thinking and researching, I REALLY believe I have a UTI...my alcohol consumption is rather high these days, which it has been for the last year and a half. My pop consumption is lower...and I dont drink that much milk, but in the last 3 months my intake of energy drinks (ie...sugar!!) has increase dramatically. The last few weeks it has been common for me to drink several cans of the 16oz Monster Energy drinks (black/green can) a day and even more recently i have increased my drinking of the 24oz cans...all the while my water intake has been kinda low, several glasses a day but not 8-10...

so is it perhaps I just coincidentally developed at UTI because of all the urethra irritants i have been consuming??

all this comes after the doc said the symptoms i have likely are not a UTI....today I am drinking more water starting this evening, and I am contemplating running to grab some cranberry juice as well....

hm....perhaps ill do this and if it does not clear up in a week i will make another appointment...

I dont know what her exact test was but its the typical STI screening a woman would receive during a gyno visit...

She did get the results back that day though, few hours later...

mine was a swab of the urethra.....got the results back like 4-5 days later....

we were both treated with the cure however and the doc. seems sure of the fact that taking the treatment is a sure bet to cure it.......thus he didnt want to give me another round of meds today........

Either way, accurate or not, if she tested positive, then I should of...and if she got a false positive we were both treated......if I got a false negative, which he said is like a 1 in 30 chance....then we still both were treated and waited 2.5 weeks before any intercourse.....

he also said its not typical that immediately after having sex i would experience these symptoms..im talking literally a matter of a hour or so and i was feeling weird.....according to him, 2 weeks is what it usually takes for any symptoms to show if they are going to...which chlam. is known for not showing symptoms...

Weird thing is that after my one night stand i definitely did notice something was different and i never addressed it...

he tests should have discovered anything she had....so its unlikely i have something else and she didnt catch it given the amount of time we have been together unprotected.....

i am reeeaalllly leaning towards this just being a UTI/irritation from the condom or something like that.....

And yes, she told me the doctor said she had a low level of Chlam so up...whether that means a messed up test...or perhaps like i said, since we both would of contracted it a matter of days after my one night stand...our bodies have both worked to rid the infected over this past year...mine was successful and hers was getting there thus the infection level was lower.....

I'd be a bit skeptical in this situation.  what kind of test did your g/f have?  If it was a blood test for chlamydia, then those aren't very accurate.  However, if your g/f had chlamydia, and you in fact fought of chlamydia as you say you did, then you would have definitely gotten reinfected, since you say you guys had a bunch of unprotected sex.  I don't understand what you mean when you say your g/f tested positive for chlamydia, but the level was low?  What kind of test did you take?

Either she had a false-positive test or you had a false-negative test.
