Effectiveness of antibiotics during incubation periods

If a person is on antibiotics and has had an exposure to a bacterial infection(STDs), would the meds help in preventing the infection ? .

I had unprotected oral sex with a CSW yesterday evening. I started on course of amoxicillin for my sinus problems from yesterday morning. If I had contracted gonorrhea or chlamydia from this woman , would the antibiotic help ?.  I mean since the bacteria would be incubating now, wouldn't amoxicillin prevent the infection ?.

I'm posting this out of paranoia. Any reply to my question would help in calming my irrational fears.

this was really low risk .

the antibiotics are you are on aren't going to help with most std's.

have you ever been tested to know your own herpes status? hsv1 was your most likely herpes risk from receiving oral sex.

Thank you for the quick reply. Going through these forums I find that it is highly unlikely for me to contract chlamydia , but syphilis, gonorrhea and herpes is a possibility. How common is herpes transmission from oral to genital ?.

I apologize if this question was answered . My search didn't yield any good answers hence posting this question .

Thanks in advance.

They might help. No guarantee though. But your risk was low and not even worth worrying about.
