External Yeast Infection??

I've been taking Keflex and Prednisone for an ear infection that I've had for 2 months (this is my 3rd antibiotic in the last 2 months) and I have developed a very red rash starting right below the opening of my vagina, the skin beside it(kinda the start of my ver inner butt cheek), all the way up to my anus. The rash is itchy and sore (esp on my anus). It looks like a severe diaper rash. I've seen this type of rash on a friends child who had an external yeast infection. Is this possible that this is what I have? I know I need to call the doctor, but any opinions? No, I'm not sexually active right now, or the last 3 months.

I'd go with the otc too on top of it all. At least apply it externally for a few days.

So, I called my gyno and she did call me in one dose of Diflucan. Hopefully this does the job! I'll let you know!

Thank you for your help! I've had a yeast infection before, but that was internally. Is it normal to be external and go back that far to your butt?

oh you definitely need to go and be seen and get proper testing done. odds are you do have a vaginal yeast infection going on and since you've been on 3 antibiotics as well as steroids, I suggest oral diflucan, 1 dose now and then repeat in 72 hours and also consider a vaginal yeast treatment too. getting rid of yeast can be a booger sometimes when you've been on multiple antibiotics and steroids like this :(
