Yeah, the doxy definitely made me sick, but I found it was better if I took it with food-though the pharmacist said that it'd best to take it on an empty stomach and it's more effective that way.
I found out 4 days ago I had this STD and They gave me the doxycycline at the ER and they gave me 4 pills and a shot in the butt. I was nausated all the way home which was a 30 min drive. We stopped at a 24/7 walgreens to get the prescription filled. I told my friend whil ein the store how nauseated I was and wanted to step outside for some air. We got outside and vomited in a plastic bag so many times. My back start to hurt sooooo bad and so did my arms, legs and was doubled over in stomach pain. I was in shock as to how sick I got. I got home and couldnt sleep at all because the nausea and stomach pain was so severe. Im going to have to find another treatment process that will make me feel better.
Yeah, I've looked up cervicitis before because I bleed during sex fairly often, but I don't know what would have caused it. I'll bring it up when I see a doctor.
The same thing happened to me. And it turned out I have chronic cervicitis. It is a result from a cervical leep i had done some years ago.
I've decided to go to a local free clinic when I have the chance and just get retested for everything again. Then I can know for sure and have some peace of mind.
The symptoms seem to be gradually coming back more and more, so I'm definitely concerned.
You have new symptoms and you have a partner who's had other partners. You need to go and be seen and get properly tested for these new symptoms. do not guess and self treat for yeast. If this isn't yeast going on, you've risked your future fertility by prolonging proper diagnosis and treatment if you do so.

I was tested for trich and it came back neg. The doctor did say I had a small amount of yeast so it's probable that the small amount got out of control with the antibiotics. I"m just worried because this is so similar to what brought me to the doctor in the first place which turned out to be chlamydia.
Last time I called the clinic they wouldn't give me any info over the phone, I'd have to go in. I guess it makes sense because they couldn't know who was calling and wouldn't want to give private information out over the phone. But I'm thinking gonorrhea isn't a worry anymore, the CDC called me to follow up because chlamydia is a reportable disease and they only asked about that and didn't mention gonorrhea. I'm sure if I tested positive for that they'd have brought it up when they called me.
Did you take Grace's advice and call the clinic? You are entitled to know what is in your medical file.
With all this treatment, it is a strong possibility that you have developed a yeast infection. Itching is a strong indication. Were you tested for trichomonas? That is an std that would cause a discolored discharge and itching as well. Sorry if this adds to your fears but you should ask your doctor and go in if not. All they have to do is get a culture and do a wet mount right there in the office. An experienced physician would know what to look for with trich.
Well, I'm itching again and in the morning I often have a fair amount of discharge..the color and texture of my discharge seems fairly normal but it's hard to tell since before all this I never paid such close attention.
I don't know if the antibiotics gave me a yeast infection or if I've been reinfected...I'm wondering what the chances of reinfection are, based on how things went? (both of us treated and went about 2-2and a half weeks from first day of antibiotics before having sex again, though he had sex with a previous partner who also went and got treatment around the same time) Is there some way I can differentiate between yeast and chlamydia? I know the typical symptoms of yeast but I understand a lot of women get different symptoms..Again I'll say that I'm getting retested at the end of this month anyways but until then I would like peace of mind and such.
Due to HIPAA guidelines, you are allowed 100% access to everything in your medical chart. If they won't even answer a simple question such as - was I tested for gonorrhea with my testing - call the clinic manager and ask why you are not being given such simple information when you've asked about it.

No. Cefixime will not cure chlamydia. Check out that link I gave you. It provides the information for treatment of gonorrhea and chlamydia as well.
The clinic won't give me any information over the phone. When I was in, they only said chlamydia.
But what I really want to know is if in fact this guy did have gonorrhea and I got that from him and it didn't come up in the test or the doctor messed up, would the antibiotics I took have treated it anyways?
And is cefixime a possible treatment for chlamydia?
If you don't know what you were tested for, call your clinic in the morning and ask.
No, you were not treated for gonorrhea.
If you don't think you really trust this guy, use condoms everytime you have sex to protect yourself! though really if you don't trust him, why continue dating him?

Yeah, earlier in the day we had talked about it and he said he was given doxycycline because azithromycin reallyupsets his stomach too much (which I didn't see a bottle for) but I only found the cefixime there. So I don't know if he lied or not. I talked to him last night and asked if he was sure he was clean now and there's no way I could catch something from him and he seemed positive that I'm fine.
But if he did have gonorrhea and I got it from him last month, would the antibiotics I was given for chlamydia treat that? Could the doctor have not told me I had both?
Usually they test for both gonorrhea and chlamydia at the same time because it is common to have both at the same time. Here is the cdc treatment guidlines:
http://www.cdc.gov/std/treatment/2006/urethritis-and-cervicitis.htm
If we were to guess, which is what we are doing, it would appear that maybe he was treated for epidymitis. That calls for both doxy and ceftriaxone. That would treat both separately. So, maybe he was treated for both.... But again this is guessing. The only way to tell is to ask
Did you ask him why he had it? We certainly have no idea why his provider treated him with that antibiotic and if he also had had a 1 time dose of zithromax in the office or anything too.
