Gonorrhea?

This month has been pretty crazy for me. On the 9th of October I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend of 8 months, I am on birth control. The following Monday I felt as if I had a uti (I've had one before) from the sex which was pretty rough so I went to the hospital since the burning during urination was very hindering. At the hospital I took a urine test and they told me that there were definitely red and white blood cells in it which is a sign of uti. So they gave me antibiotics for 5 days. After the antibiotic I felt cured but then my boyfriend comes to me beginning of this week and says he's having a pain during urination. So I said to him to see a doctor because I thought maybe he got a uti too but other than the sex on the 9th of October he wouldn't really been able to get it from me. So he went to get seen anyway, today. He told me today he also had some discharge. He said the doctor noticed the discharge and she said he could have gonorrhea. I freaked out because last weekend I gave him unprotected oral twice. I told him that he should probably go get tested for stds and I'm calling my gynocologist tomorrow. I just don't know how this would've come about after 8 months of us having sex plenty of times without problems. He was a virgin before me and I wasn't but my last sexual partner before him was about a month before I met him. So in 9 months I think I would've felt or seen symptoms in myself of gonorrhea. I'm going to be getting tested as soon as possible with my gynocologist. I know one way they check for gonorrhea is through a urine test. I've had two urine tests this year. And you would think if I had gonorrhea it would show up in those urine tests, and the hospital that I visited last monday would've told me if they saw that in my urine right? Can anyone tell me more about my boyfriend and I's case. My boyfriend is taking antibiotics right now and I'm currently on my period but I feel fine. Help please?

What you have to understand is that people who answer questions do so for free and on our own time. I who answers the majoritiy of the questions, do have other things in my life then staying on here 24/7.

As for your question you don't have to show symptoms of gonorrhea to have it. Also unless the urine tests you took tested for gonorrhea then it would not show. Another possibility is if you gave him oral sex you could have oral gonorrhea or he might have NGU. NGU can happen to anyone at anytime from receiving oral sex. It is bacteria found in the mouth that works it's way into the uretha of the male and causes an infection.
