Grace or anyone with Herpes test knowledge please help!!!!!!

Now My testing is saying I don't have herpes 2. I don't understand whats going on. It even seems like the diff. labs use different number systems or something.

Labcorp said

HSv-2 1.6
HSV 1  10.6

Now qwest is saying IGG herpesselec

HSV-1  >5.00 H Out of range  Ref. Range EIA Value
HSV-2  0.24 in range         Ref. Range EIA Value

IGM just says not detected, which the guy says I haven't been exposed to herpes recently.

I took the test like a week apart.

I just want to know what you think?

I don't know about all of this. The nurse practitioner just said it is either pos or neg and gave me the pos hsv 2 results via phone. Never saw a paper, numbers, etc. I don't understand all of this number stuff. eb

Also why are the numbers so different. 1st test was 10.6h, now 5h
Hsv2 was 1.6 now .20something.

I think it was some kind of mix up.

The Doc seems to be a little upset or just cranky towards me.

I took two test orginally, the prob with that was that they were basically a day or two apart. I waited a week did another test. This time I even did and IGM to atleast tell me if I was recently exposed. So I've been tested 3 times.

I'm so suspicious, I'm calling the lab to make sure this is my blood this time.

The second test didn't even have numbers, it just said positive.

You are negative. The conflicting results are due to you having an already existing hsv1 infection.   A positive result on an hsv2 test that is less than 3.5 (when there is an existing hsv1 infection) should not be considered positive until a second test is taken to confirm the result. In your case, your first test showed a psotive hsv2 result of 1.6 (which is a low positive) and you were positive for hsv1. It appears that was a false positive. The second test is correct. You can check with HHH but I would bet he would confirm what I am saying.
