HPV just diagnosed! HELP please!

I was just diagnosed with HPV warts.  The doctor treated them, but said I need a coloscopy because my cervix turned white when she wiped it with vinegar.  I was also tested for other std's and hiv.  I am freaking out, because I read that when you have warts in more than one area there is a good chance of hiv infection.  I will not get my results for a few days and I have never been so scared in my life!  What are your thoughts on this?

I've never heard that connection between HPV and HIV. Maybe b/c there is an opening to the body so if you have sex with an HIV person, you're chances are greater that you will get it.  That' is also true of herpes or any other STD though.

HPV is extremely common and all sexually active people will be exposed to it at some time in their sexual life.  Most of the time it goes away on its own and people don't even know they had something.  That's about 95% of the cases.  The other 5% you are falling into (with your cervix).  You really have nothing to worry about as long as you see your dr. for the appropriate treatment.

Good luck!

well i know that a person who is HPV positive has a higher risk of contracting HIV (when exposed to an infected person) more than those who don't have HPV... well in the mean time i hope you can relax and read more about it.
