Hemorrhoid or STD?

I am a woman and my boyfriend and I were both free from STDs before we started having unprotected sex.  That was almost a year ago.  We occasionally engage in unprotected anal sex (2-4 times per month) and I've never had a problem.  About 2 weeks ago was the last time we had unprotected anal sex.  I think I tore a little because the following day, I had trouble having a bowel movement as the outer area stung a bit.  A couple of days after that, I noticed that there were 2 bumps on either side of the anus opening (not sure if it was there before).  They are both slightly smaller than the size of a pea and it hurts like hell now to poo.  Thank goodness I only go once every 2-3 days or so or I think I would die. I've looked at pictures of anal warts and herpes but this looks nothing like what I've seen.  In fact, it looks closest to the pictures of hemorrhoids. What else could this be?  I have a doctor's appointment next Monday but would like an opinion before then.  Thanks.

If you don't trust your man to be faithful - that's a whole different topic but really just because he's attractive doesn't mean he's stepping out on you. If you wonder if he's being faithful, ask.

Lube for anal sex is always a good idea regardless of how wet you normally are vaginally.  When you don't use it, things like you are currently going thru can occur.

canker sores are not due to herpes.

Thanks for your responses. My lumps do feel squishy. Is it possible to be warts, though?  Even though I am in a monogamous relationship, there are no guarantees that my boyfriend has been faithful. He's really hot and women are always hitting on him (not saying that to brag or be funny but it's true).

What about the other STDs?  I have no discharge and there is very little info on the net about symptoms of anal STDs other than warts and herpes.  Do any anal STDs manifest as 2 pea-sized squishy lumps?

To answer your question, no we do not use lube. This may be too much sharing but I get really really wet when I have sex and have never found the need for lubes.  If this is an anal fissure, it would be the first time in over 100+ times that this has happened

Also, new update: I developed a canker sore on the back side of my tongue today.  I've had them before but wondering if this is related.

Thanks again for all the helpful info & advice.

It would be unusual for warts to be showing up now in this relationship.

You can both call where you were tested for std's at and confirm that indeed you were both tested for herpes with igg blood tests to see if you need to be worried about herpes or not. Having  lumps though typically is not a sign of herpes.

A hemorrhoid typically can be pushed on and feel squishy.

I'd really go with this being from anal sex. Do you use lube?  Give it time to heal and keep your bowel movements very soft and at least daily so that you don't further irritate things down yonder. Also you can use tucks pads and hold them there for 10 minutes as a compress too for relief and to reduce swelling.

Thank you.  The photos I saw of anal fissures didn't have any lumps. I saw one of a skin tag caused by an anal fissure but mine is not as small as that. The 2 lumps look almost exactly like one of the hemorrhoid pictures but I thought you couldnt get hemorrhoids from anal sex.  That's why I was thinking it might be an STD.  Do you know of any STDs that result in 2 lumps like the ones I described?  Both warts and herpes seem to be a cluster of bumps or if there are fewer than that, the size of the bumps are more like pimples.  Mine is definitely larger.  I forgot to mention that I had a sore throat a couple of days after having anal sex but I'm pretty sure that was due to allergies since it was also accompanied by itchy eyes.  I know that some STDs start off with flu-like symptoms and wasn't sure if that counted as flu-like.

Yes, if you google it you will see some images.  Nothing to worry about. If they do not go away in about two weeks, get it checked out.  Also if you have some bleeding during bowl movements, nothing to worry about, just eat more fiber.

Anal fissures can result in bumps the size of peas?

This sounds like an anal fissure.  If you think your anus was torn during sex, this is a good possiblity.  A fissure is a small tear in anus and will heal on its own.  Eat lots of fiber and take warm baths to speed the healing. You want to give it time to heal, so no anal.
