Your hsv2 result is still under 3.5 and your hubby's is negative so I recommend that you pursue additional confirmatory testing. If your doctor uses quest labs you want the herpes inhibition assay done - test #17170 is the specific test they should order. If your doctor doesn't use quest labs then I recommend you forward to your doctor the information on how to get a herpes WB blood test done and get that done - http://depts.washington.edu/rspvirus/herpes.htm is their website with all the info on it your doctor needs to send the blood to them. This is well worth following up on.
You and your hubby both tested + for hsv1 so that gal's oral hsv1 infection doesn't matter.

I got tested after finding out my husband had several affairs. Since 2003, we have not had a lot of sex due to my illness & my treatments. Oct 2006 we kinda split up & have not had sex till July 07.
I tested & came back HSV1 (3.10) & HSV2 (2.30) Blood test only IgG Antibodies
My husband tested HSV1 only (5.0) no HSV2 <.90 Blood test only IgG Antibodies
I have had a total of 5 sex partner's in my 53 years. 1970 - 1973 married, had sex with the same man twice in 1974, before getting married again in late 1974 - 1983 (this husband had affair (s), had a one night stand in 1983, then married my husband in 1984 & have not had any other man besides him.
He had a one night stand in 1993 or 1994 & then about a year affair in 1994... Then not again till this girl (not sure of this) staring 1/2007 & she says she has been with her husband for 22 years & no one else?
Since he had the affair i had him go get tested. HOWEVER they didnt test him for Herpes. They only tested him for HIV, Sphillis & Hepitis B & C which were all negative. Why would they not test him for Herpers.
Not realizing this we had sex, then couple three nights later i noticed some blisters on his penis & refused to do anything. Then about a week later we had sex & a couple of days later i notice blisters on my vagina. Then about 1 mth later i saw this girl & saw that she had several fever blisters & that concerned me but not till about i got a few shot, got a fever the next day & a fever blister popped up on me. Then my brain stated working. That's when i got tested...
She also says she didnt have it when she got this thing put in a Mirina (to get from getting pregnant) sometime about Jan or Feb 2007.
What is your opinion?
Both hsv viruses can infect both the oral and/or the genital area. They do certainly have their preferred sites of infection though -hsv1 likes to infect the oral area and hsv2 likes to infect the genital area most. They don't infect those areas exclusively though and as I said they don't turn into the other just based on location.
So what were your test results? Were you just hsv1+ or also hsv2+?
They do not routinely test for herpes. You probably were never tested before this even with the several hundreds of gallons of blood they took from you over the years as part of your lymphoma treatment ( woohoo for being in remission too!!! ).

Thank you for your comments and i really appreciate the help, I do have another question. I have Lymphoma, do you know how Herpes will effect me? I am currently in remission & have been for 3 1/2 years now. Is there a reason why my cancer doctors would not have detected this?
I was under the understanding that if you get Herpes below the belt it can only be HSV2. I am still confused. I was told that HSV1 exsist above the belt & HSV2 below the belt...
Hsv1 doesn't turn into hsv2 or vice versa. regardless of location - hsv1 stays hsv1 and hsv2 stays hsv2.
If you transmitted your oral hsv1 infection to a partner's genital area thru performing oral sex on them - they would have hsv1 genitally. Not hsv2 just because it was below the belt.
