Its actually pretty common for people to worry themselves into symptoms.  Anxiety is a powerful thing.  Why not just test and find out.  I'm not sure you are deteriorating, but your doctor can help with this.

it's been about 14 days from exposure. I've got a papercut like sore just above my lip. I noticed it about 3 days ago. Hasn't gotten any worse but no better either. My tongue and lip burn(especially when i think about it). How common is it for people to worry themselves into symptoms. Penis burns at times also but no sores. Would my condition be deteriorating quickly if this were indeed herpes?

You can test for gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU by urine testing at a week post exposure.

You can test for syphilis at 6 weeks, HIV at 3 months, and herpes at 4 months (though many will test positive sooner for HIV and herpes) by blood test.
