How long is Syphilis contagious?

Hello!
I'm now during my syphilis treatment, which is quite harsh, got nerve system taken, so 2 weeks of penicilin i.v. and now lots of procaine penicilin i.m. and I wonder how long am I contagious? I'm afraid of psychical contact with my partner (he finished treatment exactly week ago). I did read lots of articles, but still havent found my answer, in one article they say that 24h after my firat antibiotic dose, somewhere else it's to end of trearment, my doc says that I should wait like 2 yrs (jesus, thats waaay too much) cuz then even if my disease didnt get cured i wpuldnt be contagious anyways... If You have some answers to my question could You give me some literature prove to that (sorry for asking so much! :D)

The "24 hour" information you found is accurate. Within 1 day of the first dose of penicillin, you were unable to transmit your syphilis. You can safely have sex with your partner.

Syphilis is only transmitted from the canker or possibly the rash, other then that you don't transmit it.
