I got trichomonas but my fiance doesn't...so how did I get it?

I was infected with trichomonas.  I have only been with my fiance for the past 2 years.  He was tested and he did not have it.  How is it possible that I got trichomonas.  If it wasn't from him, then how did I contact it???

Trich is hard to detect in men sometimes.
I would have your fiance put on the same meds that you are.
you do not want to pass this back and forth to each other.
trich can sometimes be aquired non-sexually, so maybe you got it that way.

Best of luck!

Sometimes Trichomonas is not transfered by sexual contact. It is possible to aquire it through sharing of towels, touching certain objects, being somewhat unhygenic.

Trich is weird...it can be sexually transmitted but also picked up from other areas and also testing forTrich in men is difficult and many not always be found.

You can get it from someone who has it if you were in a hot tub with them, shared a towel, used a wash cloth...things like that. And the infection is often asymptomatic so just testing positive now doesn't mean you have not had it for a year or more.
