I have a sore on my lip

About 70 days ago, I had unprotected oral sex with a woman.  I know this is silly, but right after I was done (I realized that I shouldt be having oral sex with someone I didn'tknow that well), I washed my mouth very well.  About three days ago, I noticed a bump on my lip with a little open area on it, almost like I bit my lip.  The next day, I had what appeared to be a scab forming, but it still hasn't formed. My body is a little achy and I was feeling like I was coming down with a cold, but I am fairly physically active and the aches can be explained by that.

I have done a lot of research on syphilis, and the sore doesn't look like any of the pictures that I have seen on the internet. The sore is almost round and that is only when I move my lip around.  The area looks somewhat discolored, but it is hard to tell.

Will my symptoms have taken this long to show themselves?  Like I said, it has been over 70 days since my last sexual encounter.

The zovirax would speed it up probably more than you being fit and healthy.

If you've used that, then your chances of getting a good diagnosis from a doctor right now just lessened dramatically.

If it happens again, see your doctor.

Now, last question... promise.   Say I was very fit, which I AM pretty fit.  Would that cause a delay in the appearance of a sore and would it also speed the recovery of the sore?  A friend of mine has been giving me some of his cold sore medicine (zovirax i think) and I have been taking that since the second or third day of this "outbreak" or appearance of the sore.  If it was a syphilis sore, would the herpes medication make it go away faster?

No - it would usually last a few weeks, but a cold sore (herpes type 1) would last about a week.

Will a syphilis sore only last for five days or so?

Well, since its healing, you want to get to the doctor sooner rather than later so they can see enough of it to make at least a guess.

As this thing heals, it is getting smaller, but more circular and no scab forms.

Yes.  On average, a syphilis sore will appear around 21 days, and herpes will typically show up within 2-20 days.

I'd still get it checked, though.

So, 70+ days is a long time then?

Its a bit long to see symptoms of anything, and maybe you did just bite your lip.  You should see your doctor though, to rule anything else out.
