Is this medicine working or am I just paranoid??

hello. I am a 22 year old female. Wednesday (july 27) I received a call from my doctor saying I tested positive for chlamydia!!! I was disgusted!! The very next day (thursday, july 28) i went to the doctor and was treated with a single dose of azithromycin. I woke up this morning and I had A LOT of whitish discharge!! Is the medicine working?? I dont remember having this much discharge before I took the medicine to get rid of it!!!! Should I call my doctor? And how long should i wait before I get retested for std's to make sure the chlamydia is out of my system??
Thank you so much!

you need to give it a week and things should get better. if they don't, return to be retested for vaginal infections like yeast and bacterial infections.

Hi

Of course the medicine is working!  Re-testing for chlamydia after treatment is not really needed; BUT for peace of mind I would test on Aug 28th --expect a negative test result.

Sorry to hear of your recent diagnosis.  Please inform your sex partner (or partners if applicable),  of your positive diagnosis so they can also be treated.
