Is this only pityriasis or secondary syphilis.

About a month ago I started breaking out in a rash that spread over my body. I was referred to a dermatologist who quickly diagnosed me with pityriasis rosea. I've noticed that I also some spots on my palms and have started to worry as I've read this could be a sign of secondary syphilis.I do not have any spots on my soles. I'm a gay male. I do not have unprotected penetrative sex but have had oral sex. I was last tested for HIV in April and tested negative. Can regular pityriasis rosea affect the palms without it being syphilis?
