NGU

I was recently informed that it is possible to contract NGU from a person that is STD free. I'm confused I assuming NGU must be referred to as a STD because it occurs through sexual activity most of the time. However if u can contract it from a person who is STD free then what causes the infection?

I knew that was coming... Lol.. Anyway thx for the advice lance. Like I said I was told I had urethritis and recieved treatment for gonerhea and chlamidiya before my penile swab came bac negative. Along with the treatment and 2 days of heavy water and pure cranberry juice my symptoms ceased. I guess I should leave well enough alone and stop symptom searching. Have a blessed weekend

Kep looking online for answers and chances are you will come up with "phantom symptoms". I would not worry about it anymore.

Yeah your an *** for assuming...LOL, just joking with you.

Most likely not the same bacteria but other bacteria that could cause NGU. Basically any foreign bacteria that enters the uretha could cause an infection of NGU.

STD's in general are uncommon (more prople don't have them then do have them), but in the STD world NGU is more common then other STD's.

No relationship between NGU and HIV.

I ask cause I was diagnosed with urethritis but tested negative for both gonerhea and chlamydia by a penile swab. Any ideas on what the issue could be?

When NGU happens it is often caused via oral sex. Basically bacteria that is common to the mouth gets into the uretha and causes the infection. It is listed as a STD because that is how you get it. But the bacteria in the mouth is not harmful to the person who has it.

It is not very common to get but possible.
