Paresthesia / Burning Sensation on Left Groin Area

Hello,

I've had unprotected sex 2 months ago. After two days I got a flu and sore throat that last for almost two weeks. I felt I was having discharges and testicle pain. Doctor prescribed me 1st with Doxycycline Mono, I took this for 10 days, 2 pills a day. After that I went to my other Doctor and I was prescribed with Azithromycin, 4 pills in one take. . While this was happening I've been feeling sharp pain and burning sensation around my groin area (Also sometimes around my perineum), I've been feeling more pain on the left side compared to the right. Pain comes and go everyday Sharp pain happens around my groin area and around my tail bone area (to be exact I believe the pain and burning sensation is around my piriformis muscle, I only know this term cause I did my research to indicate where the pain at the back is located.)  I've got my self tested 3 times. 1st test was 4 days after contact, 2nd test was 15 days after contact, and 3rd test was a swab test of my urethra, which was over 1 month after contact. All tests came back normal/negative. Currently I've taken an MRI test and everything was normal. I was sent to the orthopedic and he's asking me to take more x-rays. My Primary Care Doctor thinks it's Chronic Pelvic  Pain or Prostitis. I'm just wondering what could this be? All of these symptoms started after that night I had unprotected sex. I was perfectly fine before that. Now, I've been having a hard time concentrating at work and school.

Most likely not std related. Anyway continue working with your doctor. And if all your test are negative next time wear a condom.

Thank you! I just started going to Physical Therapy because of my SI joint. I'm just confused if this could be the reason for the burning sensation and sharp pains on the groin area, also sharp pain in the penis. What a coincidence, because all of this started showing up after the unprotected sex which is almost 3 months ago.

Hello paranoidstd,

Thank you for responding. I've got urine and blood tested a few days ago and all results came back normal/negative. I still feel some soreness on the left side of the shaft of penis and also sometimes I feel like my the head of my penis is scrapping my underwear which gives me a spiky feeling. Lastly, pelvic and back (SI are) pain still comes and go.

Attached is a risk chart of std's. If you had unprotected sex. It would be prudent to test for all std's at 6-8 weeks. If you test negative then you will be fine. Continue working with your doctor. Good luck!
