Patches of dry skin
A few years ago, before I lost my virginity, I would develope patches of dry skin on the head of my penis. They do not hurt, and seems to not be centered in one area other than the head. How ever when I lost my virginity and started having sex regularly, it went away. How ever a year later and now single, I found it coming back again.

I'm thinking it may just be chaffing combined with he turn of the seasons/ drying out. But I am curious, is there some type of STD that would cause this?

No, there is not.  You should especially rule std's out because this was happening to you before you were sexually active.  It could be excema or psoriasis in a place one would not really think it would appear.  See a dermatologist if it is that bothersome to you.
