Please, Please Help me

Hi,
I realize you get a lot of questions asked on here, and this is probably a lot like the other's you've answered in the past, but I would be able to sleep at night if you could help me.

At night on the 16th of this month I received oral sex off a guy. It is a one off and I've never had sex without a condom. I have to admit, I was paranoid to begin with even before the encounter so it may just be my paranoia taking over.

Basically since that night I've found these POSSIBLE symptoms:

- Regular Urination? (Is 4-5 times a day what people would class as regular? I'm only going a few more times than usual, however I do sometimes still feel like i'm not "emptied" even after I go to the toilet).

- Itching around (and on) the testicles and thighs. I shaved around there a couple weeks prior, and I think it may just be the hairs growing back that are itching, plus anxiety. The itching can feel a bit "prickly" which further leads me to believe it could just be hairs. It's not itching all the time and nor is it unbearable. When i don't itch it becomes nagging but can easily be ignored. How severe would the itching be if it was an STD? I started itching almost immediately after the encounter.

- My penis does feel slightly tender

- My urine is clear (it was tonight but it was very yellow previously).

- I've felt nauseas since the encounter - though lots of bugs are going around.

- Straight after i had a poo 2 nights ago a got 'discharge' from my penis (3 days from the encounter). It actually looked more like ***, didn't smell, wasn't painful etc. I again went to the toilet tonight and it didn't happen, nor has it happened since. Since the encounter I have checked my penis EVERY day at regular intervals for any discharge and found none! Could it have been that that was actually come for some reason? Why was it a one off? It's not happened since or before that time. It seemed very early to be getting a discharge anyway.

I have NO (and hopefully won't develop any) marks, cuts, lumps, warts etc that I can see. My penis and testicles don't appear to be swollen.

Am I being paranoid? Am I actually naive and trying to shrug off the fact i'm infected? I really don't know and I'd love some help.

I am currently regularly taking the same antibiotics that are used to cure STDs anyway. Will these still cure any potential STDs, or will they be too weak from using them regularly? If symptoms from STDs haven't appeared yet, if the antibiotics do work, will it heal any STDs before I actually see the symptoms for it?

Am I being paranoid or do you think I have an STD?

I would appreciate a swift reply more than you will ever know. I cannot sleep because of worrying! Thank you in advance!

Does ANYONE know if the top of your urethra is normally blue as if it looks "bruised"? If it's not, does anyone know if it's likely to be because of an infection?

Honestly, I don't know.  I'm not a doc.

I don't think you have anything to worry about between now and Tuesday when you get checked.

Thanks again for the reply,

Following on from my last message I have additional information:

I rang an STD line and told them my symptoms and they said I was very unlikely to have any STD's.

Afterwards, I did however find the inside of my urethra looked "bruised". Further down it is blue colored. Is this normal, or could it be a sign of a problem?

After consultation with the STD line: they said one off discharge is nothing to worry about and it could indeed have been semen. I now have no worries except for the "bruised" urethra.

If I can find that this is normal i can stop worrying and just get checked out on Tuesday.

Thanks again in advance!

100 mg once a day for doxy won't cure any std.

It doesn't sound like you have an infection, but you really should test.

I can't tell you for sure that you can go back to having sex, because I don't know if you are infected or not.  That would be a decision for you to make.

Hi auntiejessi,

Thankyou for your reply, I really needed it.

I'm on Doxycycline Tablets for my skin, and I was taking one 50mg tablet a day, but have upped myself to 100mg a day for the last week in the hope of clearing any infection i might have caught.

My urine color is normal - it's back to yellow now, it just changed with my diet as it should. I'd say I go to the toilet 6 or 7 times a day to urinate (which is about average for me).

I have no symptoms of anything at the moment - no discharge, no pain during urination, no lumps or bumps etc.

The discharge happened once, and still hasn't happened again before or afterwards. Should I be worried about that one off? Or, can it be dismissed because it's been so long since it happened without reassurances?

Again, I often felt like my bladder wasn't empty even before I possibly got an STD, so i'm just feeling that as normal.

Do you think, because I took extra antibiotics, any problems will clear itself up? Because I've taken the medication for a week is it now safe to have sex again without passing on the infection.

Thank you again for your help. It is invaluable!

Nothing you did would result in anything fatal.  Receiving oral sex and fingering (even with saliva) will not transmit anything.

However, receiving oral sex could result in you getting a genital gonorrhea infection, syphilis or hsv1.  If you've ever had a cold sore, don't worry about genital hsv1, as you'd have antibodies to fight that off.

Urine color isn't usually indicative of an infection, unless its red from blood.  That has more to do with what you've eaten, drank, any vitamins you might take, etc.

The feeling like you haven't emptied your bladder might be a sign of gonorrhea, and the discharge certainly could be.

What meds are you on, what dose, and why are you taking them?

The unfortunate thing is that being on these antibiotics can skew std testing.  Unless you need to take them for another infection, you might stop them and wait a couple of weeks, then test.

If you have a discharge though, they can test that.

Sorry to post again - but I forgot to mention I also haven't noticed any pain during urination or bowel movements.

The same guy  (on the same night) also put saliva on his finger and put it up my bum - does this make me a target AT ALL for HIV/Aids etc? Anything fatal. I just want to make sure there's no risk of this just to feel better.

Thanks again
