Please Help at a loss

Okay, a while back i had a yeast infection or so we thought after 3 doctors visit's i was told it was yeast and then I went to an OBGYN who said it was trich. I did the tindamax 2 times and went back to the doctor twice to make sure it was gone and both times it was negative. I still had irratation so i called the doctor and he told me to get a second opinion so i went to another doctor and explained everything and he did a wet prep and said he was going to send it out to be cultured because he said he saw a few things that looked like trich but they were not moving so he couldnt say it was that and he also saw yeast but wasnt sure. The results came back negative but he called in Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg 2ice a day for 7 days to just be sure.I was only able to take 3 days as it got me sick. I called him to tell him and he said that during examination he can see something is not normal but he just doesnt know.... I still have irratation and my stomach makes these really loud noises all the time when i was taking the doxycycline it stoped but now the noises and irratation are coming back. I dont know if they are related and I just dont know what else to do???? I want to find someone who speacalizes in this area but its hard to find as when i went to the 2nd doctor i called and asked if he speacalizes in resistent infections and they said yes and when i get there he also is a doctor that does laser hair removal and botox and stuff.... What can I do?? What can this be??? i have been tested for Gonerehea and Claymidia and its negative..... thanks

I'd ask for an endocervical culture with sensitivity.  The lab watches it grow for 3 days, I think, and will be able to identify what grows, and what meds will cure it.

I don't think the tummy noises are related.  That might be something from your diet.

He looked at it under the wet prep and sent one out to the lab for Yeast, Tric and BV I got the results at the end of the day the next day. I went to planned parenthood the first time when all this started and that's who said i had a alot of yeast when that didnt get better I went to my PCP twice and she also looked at it under the wet prep and said it was alot of yeast when I called my PCP to tell her I still had symptoms after treating both times thats when she sent me to by OBGYN and they found no yeast just Trich after I treated that I went back to him twice and they looked under the wet prep and said negetive and I called him to say i still had symptoms and thats when he referred me to get a second opinion. When the third doctor examined he said he could tell that I have something but it wasnt clear under the microscope so he sent it out. They called and said it was negative and he said he was shocked because he could see there is something wrong.

My usual OBGYN said that wet prep's arent always accurate and maybe they missed the trich because of all the yeast but I am now so doutful on these test because I had been seen 3 times before it was picked up.

auntiejessie I really appriciate you helping me..... If you were me what would you ask them to test for and what would you do?

When he did the test for yeast, bv and trich, did he send anything to the lab, or just look at it in his office?  Did you have to wait a few days for the results, or was it immediate?

If it was immediate, he didn't do a culture.  If he does an endocervical culture, he can send it off to the lab and see if group b strep or something grows.

Have you tried Planned Parenthood?  They have sliding fee scales and are probably a hell of a lot more knowledgeable than your doc sounds.

Hi and thank you for all your help. I dont know if I have had a partner with ngu I am just searching for possibilities My last 3 test have come back negative for trich yeast and BV. I have also tested for gonnereah and claymidia both negative. But I know something is just not right and it seems to be getting worse. The doctor said during examination he can tell something is wrong he just said that its unknown. I am not sure he is very familiar with std's so I wanted to find out what i could ask if he will do. So far I think maybe NGU or PID. You suggest to have him culture it. He has done that once for trich yeast and BV. What should i ask him specificly to culture it for? I would like to come in to his office with all diffrent things to ask him to test cause honestly i can not keep affording this and I cant take it anymore. thank you for all your input.

You can try it.  Have you had a partner with NGU?  If you want to go that route, ask for 1gm of zithromax instead of the doxy.  You take it once, and while it has side effects - some diarrhea possibly - it will only last a day instead of a week.

I still think you need a culture done that is sent to the lab where it can grow and see what is going on.

Well, I'm not sure what the doxy is treating?  The one possibility your doc mentioned was trich, and doxy doesn't treat trich.

If he sees something, he needs to culture you and send it off and see what grows, so that they can find out exactly what this is, once and for all.

Does anyone know anything i can do? I went to that website and called the number in my area but they dont except my insurance.I need to see sombody who can solve this. What do you think this could be Irriatation, frequent urnination, yellow discharge, stomach upset. Do you think I should just go back to the second doctor??? I was thinking about trying to take the rest of the Doxycline medicine that I couldnt finish just to see if it would help.

Yes, I am sorry i am a female. I will look at the website. When he did the wet prep he didnt notice any BV. I am going to look at the website you mentioned. Do you think it could be NGU? I also forgot to mention that i have frequent urination and when i go its not that much. Thanks again.

Oh I'm sorry you are going through all this.

I'm confused - your profile says male, but you went to an obgyn?

I know you don't have herpes, but on www.westoverheights.com, they have a doctors list.  All of them have been recommended by people who have herpes, but that just means they are good at what they do and are up to date with treatments, etc.

If you are female, ask your doctor for a wet mount to look for clue cells, lactobacilli, and trich.  They will be able to tell if you have an infection (clue cells indicate bacterial vaginitis), something called cytolytic vaginosis, or trich.  I wonder if you have just over-corrected, which can cause the cytolytic vaginosis.
