Possible STD exposure

Around 2 months ago, july 31st, I had a possible exposure to an STD via saliva drop in the eye from an unknown person. At first I was concerned with HIV with worries that the drop of saliva may have contained trace amounts of blood. I developed a sudden fever/sore throat that lasted 3-4 days (none of the other ARS symptoms except fatigue) and was followed by an ear infection on the 5th day. Around the same time i developed the ear infection, i also started getting a dry cough that would only happen at night. I currently still have the exact same cough, around 10 weeks later. I also had congestion problems, and feel like the area above my nostrils (inside) feels constricted and that i dont get as much air as i used to when breathing through my nose.

7 weeks after this possible exposure I developed quite a few canker sores on the back of my throat, some of which look quite large. In addition the lymph nodes near the back of my jaw, and on the sides of my neck became swollen and sore. The ones on the side of my neck are slightly visible (raised), and were confirmed by my doctor. I would also like to point out i tested for HIV only at 8 weeks (neg) and i am currently waiting till week 12 for closure. I currently still have the cough (about 8 weeks), sore lymph nodes (2 and a half weeks), and canker sores, (2 and a half weeks). Would these symptoms coincide with any STDs transmitted via saliva or saliva with trace amounts of blood? Please help me

You can get strep, you can also get ulcerations from sinus drainage too ( as well as gerd or even from fungal infections from antibiotic use  ).  There is no reason to continue testing for hiv or any other std from this.

The first time i visited my doctor it was to check a second ear infection i received (didnt think it was worth mentioning) and didnt have throat problems yet. The second time, i was only tested for HIV, and the doctor gave me a quick check up noting swollen lymph nodes and a "red throat". I was prescribed a nasal spray to help with my congestion (still have) as well as new allergy pills. I did not have a strep test, which would be the only throat infection i am aware of. I assume there is now no reason for me to test for any STD's (including HIV) should i return to the doctor, yes? All of this information is very helpful, and comforting.

Your risk was for upper respiratory infections which you have seemed to have had already.  It's not a risk for a std.

Did you get a throat culture done?

Thank you so much, i have been having a rough 2 months worrying about all these problems. I just have to ask even though it seems like im beating a dead horse, but i feel it necessary in this situation. Even with a small amount of blood, i.e. his spit looked white to me, it would seem to me that there is some risk of infection.

You can not get a STD from your "exposure".
