"Protected" Condom Sex with Professional Sex Worker

Dear Doc,

A couple of days ago I visited a professional sex worker. I've noticed that she had big marks of rape os somekind of abuse. She put me a condom, cleaned my body with wet wipes and started doing me oral sex. After a few minutes she inserted my penis into her vagina and very gently started to move up and down...it took me a minute before I pushed her away telling her that I want oral sex only. She continued with oral sex... After the intecourse I asked for a wet whipe and pulled down the condom, not touching it. Than I went to the bathroom and washed my penis with soap - I used a lot of soap and water, but didn't take a shawer. I didn't touch her vagina nor mouth, but massaged her breasts. I've been reading articles and formums for STDs since than and got VERY CONFUSED. I guess some of her vaginal fluids got in touch with my body or some saliva got in touch with my body.

Please tell me what are the chances I got STDs from the described stupid mistake I made?

I'm SCARED TO DEATH about my family as I have a life and we've been trying to have a baby.

Thanks for the support.

London and I are all good now, so we don't need to carry this any further.

Sorry to steer away from the initial question on this thread but to suggest AJ was being judgemental in one of her replies is ridiculous, you are correct we are not here to judge we are here to share not only knowledge but what we have learned from personal experience, some people have found themselves on these Forums for the simple reason  they had no control over what happened to them i.e NOT a mistake.all too often it is wives and husbands of unfaithful partners who suffer, since Blurt ( great name btw ) is about to bring a child into the world a bit of advice regarding his extra marital activities is not being judgemental I personally see it as the reality check he needs right now so that he doesn't make this "mistake" again for his wife and baby's sake as well as his own.
It's not about Morals it's about facts!!.... and the facts are some want their cake and eat it too ..... it doesn't work that way I'm afraid, ask those who are living with Herpes or other STD's as a consquences of their wives, husbands or partners little "mistake" when people are already IN a relationship or married whereby their sexual behaviour has the ability to harm their partners future health there is no room for such mistakes..... it's that simple!

Do you see any crabs?  You would be able to see some little nit things if you had crabs.

My guess is that you have a fungal infection causing this itch, and taking the antibiotics could make that worse.

You can get testing today, right?  So go to an std clinic and get checked.

This could also be hemmorhoids if its just on your anus.

Hi Londoner,

I do understand your reasons and I agree with you. However, I had no choise and needed to take urgent actions. The dermatologist refused to test me and after going to two clinic labs I got answers to test on Monday morning (it was Friday afternoon).

The only symptoms I have at the moment, continuing for 4 days is itching of my anus. Its started 2-3 days after my exposue. I eliminate the presence of Crabs as the prostitute was shaved and my itching doesn't spred to the rest of my genital area. However, craps could be found in clothing. I guess they should have spred to my penis area so far.

Please advice me what could be the cause of this itching of my anus? Do I need to test for some other deseases to find out what is causing this anus itching? Please help me.

I'm sorry mate but I strongly disagree with you self medicating, it would be unprofessional of me to advise you further as to what you can use for what. All I will say is that you are taking unnecessary drugs since you don't have any STDs. I think it's time to move on. Please don't buy or take antibiotics without prescription, it is bad for you and it is bad for those of us who are trying to prevent antibiotic resistance around the world. If you are worried about syphillis then go to your doctor and say you slept with someone a month ago who told you she had syphillis. They will definately test you and medicate you if necessary in this circumstance.

Hi My Friends,

I've searched the web and found the following information:

"Scientists found that a single, 2-gram pill of the antibiotic azithromycin worked as well as one shot of penicillin at treating early syphilis."

Oral Antibiotic As Good As Penicillin Shot For Syphilis
September 21, 2005 08:41:05 PM PST
Just one dose in pill form of the antibiotic azithromycin, better known as Zithromax, treats early-stage syphilis as well as a shot of penicillin.

"Single-dose oral azithromycin is effective in treating syphilis, and may be particularly useful in developing countries in which the use of penicillin G benzathine injections is problematic," wrote the authors of a recent study comparing the two drugs.

"However, recent reports of azithromycin-resistant Treponema pallidum in the United State indicate the importance of continued monitoring for resistance," they added.

Please tell me how reliable could be to use Zmax instead of penicilin shots. Do I need to test for Syphilis when I already took a 2G Zmax?

...Yesterday was the 7th day after my exposure. Could this bump be a sign of syphilis or another STD? Its small, about 3mm and I have no pain. Normally, I have pretty clean skin and don't have bumps.

Hi My Friends,

Yesterday, I've noticed a bump /some unusual formation on my head close to my hair/. I don't know how to name it in English. Can it be Syphillis chancre?? Does this chancre always apper at the site of entry of syphilis or it can be evertywhare, including at my face? Could it be another STS, too?

Hi My Friends,

I took only one dose of those medications. Do you think that's enough for curring gonorea, chancroid or chlamydia, I I had ether? Do I need to take more doses?

I guess now I have to worry about syphillis, HPV and Herpes. It has been over a week, so I guess Herpes is out of question. Regarding HPV, both me and my wife have it from the past. Can we reinfect with this virues? For syphillis, perhaps I should monitor for any skin disorders.

Realistically, please let me know what deseases are likely to catch from protected oral and vaginal sex (for less than a minute). If I don't have simpthoms for 2 weeks, can I feel safe for me and my wife?

Oh good clarification.  Thanks.

You really shouldn't have sex while being treated for an std.  I meant that your question about gentle protected sex so far with your wife means she probably hasn't been infected.

It is best to wait 7 days to have sex.

yep i agree, just don't have unprotected sex with her for 7 days and if possible don't have sex at all while you are taking the medication in case you have a condom break for whatever reason, not really worth the risk is it?

Those meds should cure gonorrhea and chlamydia.

I doubt you had either to start with, but if you did, that will take care of it.  Also, protected sex with your wife is fine, and the meds take 7 days to fully work.

Hi London08 and Auntiejessi,

As I told you I've had "protected sex" with my wife. I was very careful with the condom not to pass any fluids...Since I don't have any bumps or other unusual things, I hope the sex with condom was safe for her.

I couldn't wait until Monday and decided to take medicines as precousion. I took 1x ciprofloxacin 500mg and 1/2hour later 1 suspense of 2g Zmax (Azithromycin). I hope now that if I had any STDs, they should be DEAD.

Please tell me how much time is needed to Kill these bacterias after taking the above mdeicines.

Please also advise if I may have passed bacterias to my wife having gentle sex with a condom, which I putted before I even touched her naked body. I do hope I didn't pass her any STD desease.

PLEASE EASE MY MIND WITH YOUR REPLIES

Hi My Friends,

I just got back from the doc and she refused to test me for gonorea and chlamydia. She told me that I must have rectal discharge, not just itching. I'll try to test in another clinic on Monday. Can I just test in a clinic lab without visiting another doctor? Do I have to take sample myself and just give it to the lab?

Hi Auntiejessi and London08,

It has been a week since my exposure. Can I test for gonorea and chlamydia now? or I should wait longer?

I don't have any symptoms and I have "protected" sex with my wife..I'm trying to be careful, but who knows??!!

The only symptoms I imagine perhaps is a very slight itching of my anus. Do I have to have intense/strong itching or slight itching could be symptoms?? My work is on a computer spending 8hours sitting on a chair...could be because of this or could be something else??

I agree that your chances are VERY low, but I also think that you aren't going to be able to relax until you get some negative results.

Its a shame that your doctor didn't just test you for gonorrhea and chlamydia when you were there.  I think that would have helped ease your mind.

Your baby is quite safe.  No std is passed by casual contact, even hugging or kissing.

Hang in there,

Hi London08,

I just got back from the clinic where the doctor told me that I have nothing to worry about. The doc said that all these STDs aren't that easy to catch, so probably I cought mental deseas rather than STDs.

Even though this may sound funny, I still have some concerns. I'll make tests for syphillis and all the rest, probably in a month or so. The main issue is that we are practising unprotected sex at home. It will be very odd if suddenly I change my habits and start using condoms at home. What should I do?

The red bump the doc said is just a normal infection, not related to Herpes.

Thank you again for your support and answers. I wish you all success after you graduate from the medical university.

You can check for syphillis at 6 weeks, gonorrhoea and chlamydia at 2 weeks (gon would likely be positive within a day or two of the encounter, chlamydia wld normally take a week). HIV you don't need to worry about at all but if you wanted a test 4 weeks would be sufficient in 90 per cent of cases. HSV1 and 2 are difficult to test for but if you have any sores or lesions go to a std clinic straight away and they can swab the area and make a diagnosis.

Just re-read your post, the only thing she could realistically have transferred to your anus with her fingers is gonorrhoea but she would have had to have her own vaginal secretions all over her fingers and probably actually inserted then into you anus for this to be a viable mode of transmission. Pain on passing stools and an abnormal anal discharge are the symptoms of gonorrhoea in this case. If you are worried, go to a clinic and sort it out. really, seriously, do that, it will put your mind at rest

auntjessie, pretty low aren't you. How dare you start making libellous accusations as to my private life just because I think your comments lacked medical focus and weren't necessary or helpful. Perhaps you should limit yourself to medical advice instead of making caustic insinuations about other members such as myself. Unlike you I wasn't banging on about what he should or shouldn't have done and so didn't miss the point at all, I said his risks were low from the outset. Good day and good riddance.

Blurt, one of my dental friends had herpetic whitlow on his fingers from the high exposure they tend to get to HSV1 in that profession. If it isn't there by now then chances are you're in the clear mate, 2-20 days is the normal incubation period, symptoms can include a tingling in the infected finger followed by localised swelling caused by oedema. Good luck.

One more thing: Both Oral and Vaginal Sex were "protected" with the same condom.

My biggest concern is if some fluids or touch with STD formations to my body may have leaded to infection. What if she touched my anys with her fingers, for example. I don't recall she touched my anus, but I was so frightened so I may have missed something. In Fact I got errection for a very short time. About 10-20 seconds after she inserted my penis into her vaigna I lost errection and pushed her back. Than I got some miserable errection during the oral sex and finished very quickly, as I wanted to run away as soon as possible.

I have a message to all people reading this forum. NEVER GO TO PROSTITUTES - NEVER!!!

Thank you for easing me to get out of this terrible situation. I haven't had contact with my wife for four days and even with my baby. This is horrible. Now, I'm sure I won't do such stupid and selfish things again.

Back to the subject. There is still something which isn't clear for me. Can I get STD from her saliva's or vaginal fluids touching the area around my penis? I wore a condom and I do think that it remained intact - at least I haven't seen any damage. I'm not sure if any of her vaginal fluids could touch my body for such a short intercourse. In addition, she did me an oral sex after I pushed her out. I'm also concerned if she may have had some herpes, syphilis or other STD formations to her body touching my naked body arround my penis. Is it possible to get infected in this way?

At last. Which deseases should I check for and when?

Thank you again for answering to my questions.

I'm sorry if this is a sensitive topic for you, London.  However, as humans, we are responsible for, and have control over, our actions and our thoughts.

I wasn't judging anything based on a morality.  I was simply saying that if this concerns him so much, and he is so fearful about his family, that his actions contradict that.  I have said that to countless others here who have done the same thing he has (and apparently you have), and they have thanked me for pointing it out.

And since we all seem to have missed the major point here - Blurt's risks are quite low - protected oral and intercourse.
