SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

I'm a 23 year old boy. On September 22, 2012 and October 8,2012 respectively, I had two separate occasions of having unprotected oral sex with 2 separate girls from the same massage parlour. It was one of the most idiotic things that I've ever done in my life and I regret doing those. In line with that, I felt weird sensations in my penis tip which felt that I had to urinate a lot. Also felt that my penis was unusually hot. There was no yellow or white discharge from my penis

In line with that, I went to the hospital to get my swab test and urinalysis done on October 23,2012. Doctors informed me that they found nothing from my gram stain that would indicate any infection and that my urinalysis was clear. For the next 4-5 weeks, I had no symptoms, except for a tingling in my anus. Then, around 5 days ago, I am feeling the burning effect during urination. There is still no discharge, but it got me thinking. Any thoughts?

Is it normal to have poor week flow? I'm noticing it in the morning.

Fyi, the burning is only in the mornings which I think is connected somewhat to dehydration. Its not too bad.

Hi Grace, Thanks for the response. Anyway, should I be confident that this is nothing at this point? Was the gram stain test done more than 2 weeks from the exposure reliable enough? Its just weird that the symptoms started coming out again at this point.

really no reason to think you have a std since so far all your testing is negative and you had such a low risk encounter too. a gram stain doesn't really look for specific std's either,  it just reports on abnormal cells present.

at this point, be seen by an urologist for further work up.  make sure they examine your prostate too when you are seen.

Thanks. The gram stain was done on October 23, 2012. I started noticing the burning on November 25, 2012. So the swab test/gram stain doesn't check other std's? Could this be other STD's?

Hi, if the doctor inserted it into your penis then the burning is from that. Its very sensitive tissues. The gram stain is only for gonorrehea.

To add to that, the doctor who took the gram stain was actually trying to get some discharge from my penis. He couldn't get any, so he had to manually insert it to my urethra. One of the most painful experiences if I do say so myself.

Question is,

What specific std's does the gram stain test for?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. It got me thinking that if my tests were negative on October 23, 2012, then why am I getting the burning sensation just now? Could it be due to other reasons?

You got swabbed after a month and it came back negative. You don't have a std.
