Hey,
So I had unprotected sex with a stripper on January 17th around 1am. I went to see my doctor on Wednesday, January 21st and had blood drawn with a urine sample around 11am. The lab ran panels for everything - chlam, syphilis, hep, hiv-antibody and told me that everything was non-reactive today at 11:30 (the 23rd). When I asked my MD if these results were conclusive after only 4 days post-exposure and 2 days culturing in the lab, he said yes. I was recommended to return on February 17th for one more HIV test to confirm the negative, but can I trust these results?
It seems too early to know...but the MD said it was good and that my risk of anything was really low. Everything I read said that HIV wouldn't show up until 30 days...so how can he be so sure?
