STD Urine Testing

Urinating more often then I should, and thought there was a slight feeling afterwards (may have been in my head) with no discharge so far (been about 5 days), and otherwise feel/look fine. I had multiple unprotected partners in the past month and so went into a clinic to get checked. They did the standard urine test right there in the facility, and the results came back fine, with no elevated white blood cells or signs of infection.

QUESTION: I understand that STDs like chlamydia and gonorrhea need a specific test to determine if you have those exact infections, but does the fact that my standard urine test at the clinic, coming back "completely normal" with no indication of infection, rule out the possibility of a bacteria STD like them (not talking about herpes, HIV, etc)? Meaning, if I had an STD, wouldn't the general/standard urine test at the clinic have shown an indication of just something?

The nurse said that if the standard urine test done right there at the clinic came back as positive, they then would have sent out further samples to determine exactly what was the infection, meaning more then likely an STD. But since if was normal, there was no need to test further.

Most likely it would have shown some kind of bacteria, but what was your risk?

If you test a normal urine test, it will show any bacteria or infection in the urine which means it needs further testing to determine if its STD. However, if you have any symptoms such as Chlamydia check for Prostate infection. Prostate infection can’t be seen in urine or blood, it requires a physical examination. But yeah if you test a normal urine test it will determine whether it’s an std or not but it does need futhrr testing
