STD transmission?

I posted this originally in the HIV forum and was told it was No risk for HIV so I would like to see if the STD risk is likely.

I recently performed cunnilingus on a female whose health is unknown to me.  A few days later I began to feel ill with sore throat, head ache, stomach ache.  Is it possible that I was infected with an STD?  If so, is there one that would be more common via oral sex?  From what I have read it seems that gonorrhea (of the throat) is a possibility?  what do you think?

From what I've researched the only thing you have remotely to be "worried" about is oral gonorrhea ... but its very low risk and uncommon, go to a doctor. it put me at ease .

I appreciate the info but in my case I didn't have the sore throat or other symptoms until 2 days after the encounter, which has me worried

I was in a very similar situation a few days ago... except i had a sore throat the day before i performed cunnilingus, and was worried about the possibility of me having an std... anyway, went to the doctors today and he said i had a sinus infection which led to post nasal drips and that's what was causing my problems. He just prescribed me Cefprozil 500

Hi Vance, due to my symptoms mentioned earlier, specifically headache and sore throat, I saw my dr who said my throat looked infected but did not swab it or do any test.  Since he prescribed Amoxicillin 825 I just hoped it would cure any infection I have.  After 5 days on it my headache is gone but the sore throat is still the same. Is there any chance that the cunnilingus I performed has infected me with gonorrhea, chlymidia, or syphilis in my throat? I have no symptoms related to urinating or discharge from my penis.  Help. Thanks.

Giving oral sex to a woman...no real major risk, very very low risk for herpes, HPV and syphilis. Symptoms you have are no relation to a STD.
