STD????

To start things off, I am an extremely anxious person and tend to worry ALOT. 2 months ago I kissed and received oral sex from a girl at my uni who later told me she's had cold sores before. Since I had never had a cold sore before until 4 days after having oral with her, I immediately freaked out that It had also been given to my genitals. For the past 2 months I checked my genitals every hour in an OCD fashion, silly I know. HOWEVER, last week my nightmare came true and I discovered a large pimple on my penis shaft. (I had a sore throat and runny nose prior to this) I popped it and it behaved exactly like a pimple with puss coming out. Instead of immediately rushing to the doctor I waited for three days and the bump got smaller and smaller, healing quickly. I then went to an STD clinic, but they said the bump had healed for too long to test it. I literally went to every single STD clinic in my city showing them pics of the pimple and they all said I  shouldn't worry and the pimple didn't resemble herpes. However, when I read online from others experiences it's a totally different story and I have read examples that seem extremely alike to mine.I would get a blood test, but I know that most people already have hsv1, and I had cold sores 2 months ago, so that would most likely come back as positive either way... Should I put my mind at ease?
