Strep for 2 months?

I have been showing symptoms of strep, for about two months now. Initially, they did a rapid strep test about 4 days after i was showing the symptoms and it came back negative for strep. I was & still am, noticing white lines on the inside of my cheeks, looks like spider veins throughout my mouth, red tonsils, and small flesh colored bumps on the back of my throat. every morning i've been having a bad case of post nasal drip, and it feels like i always need to clear my throat. the doctor prescribed amoxicillin, which didn't do anything, i went back about a month later, to be retested by a different doctor, who did a swab test and told me that I tested positive for Strep A. She prescribed me a different antibiotic that seemed to slightly improve my throat, but still not 100%. it is now 2 months without any real improvements. I'm not sure if I should be concerned this could be something else, Since i did have unprotected sex, i wouldn't necessarily say i did oral because i only licked it. But, it was still in my mouth. The symptons happened the day after. I'm concerned this could be STD related, or a super strain of strep. is it possible to have a throat infection for months?

I dont think you have got this from your ex. Your risk of stds are close to zero.

If symptoms still persist, please consider re-seeing your doctor or try another doctor.

Thanks for your reply guilt1905, is there a greater risk however, if i licked his penis after it was in my vagina. would there be any risk in contacting hpv or herpes of the throat? im assuming that my ex was truthful in telling me that he has had no std's.
He has also followed up with this doctor who did extensive blood work tests for everything, due to the fact that he has had some health issues w/ blood clots. he has reassured me that if it was something std related the doctors would of informed him by now after running tests. im wondering if any form or oral std/sti would last for 5 months.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. But, as far as the unprotected sex, I was more confident in doing it, because i already knew my status, which was negative for std's-same as last year. I've always been overly cautious, due to a scare a had with herpes years back. It was a blood test igm, and it came back inconclusive, we retested with igg and it came back negative. a had a sore on my vagina at that time as well, which they took a culture, and that culture came back as a staph infection. they later re-tested with igg-which came back negative for hsv1 and hsv2. Funny thing is, i've even gotten retested, even if i didn't have any sexual contact based off the scare. Fast forward to years later, i got tested again in 2013, with everything negative. not having any sexual contact when i had my pap done in 2015, i just decided to re-test again. call me paranoid. the doctor did two types of blood work for the hsv test, and they said everything was negative. they did two test one igg-type specific, which was negative. the other, i'm not sure-Once, I got in the room however, she explained to me, that i was showing positive for herpes simplex antibodies, but i did not have herpes. she kept reassuring me that i didn't have it, since i haven't had any sexual contact in years, what's my risk? I shouldn't be concerned. I remember a long time ago i had a cold sore, only one time. i'm assuming that could be why it's showing positive for antibodies. everytime i had any type of sore on my genitals it was either a cyst or staph infection. From what I hear, as long as the igg-type specific test comes back negative, i should be good, which it did. I guess some tests outside of that can give a false positive. i haven't had multiple sexual partners, was in a monogamous relationship previously, both unprotected orally and genitally  and his status turned out to be okay, even when this scare years back was happening. i recently connected with an ex, who told me he did test for std's and all of them were negative, he hasn't had any sexual contact after that. but shortly after giving oral sex, which was literally seconds, it was more of a lick-i dont even think his penis went all the way in my mouth, no ejaculation in my mouth or anything like that. I just woke up the next day with a dry mouth and wanting to clear my throat. i looked to my tonsils being red, almost like spider veins within my mouth, white lines on the inside of my cheeks, and flesh colored bumps on the back of my throat. as stated before,my first rapid strep test came back negative, but after a month of the same symptoms i went back to another doctor, who did a swab and said that it was positive for strep a. gave me a different antibiotic which some what faded the flesh colored bumps in the back of my throat, but my mouth still looks infected. This is the only reason why, i'm wondering if this could be std related or possibly a super strain of strep. since it's been now 2 months with little improvement to antibiotics. He didn't get sick, no signs of anything that could be alarming, and my genitals are fine. Just worried about my throat not clearing up.
