Swollen Tonsils

I've gave oral sex to my boyfriend on the weekend and now I have really swollen tonsils and they have lots of puss spots which are extremely swollen and very painful. I went to the doctors and they gave me penicillin but said if it was an infection (I think) it wouldn't work. I have been taking paracetamol for pain and ibuprofen now which has helped a lot but not sure if the swelling is going down. I looked at them again and the puss spots seem to have gotten more white, what does this mean? I also want to know could this be oral gonorrhoea or herpes?

Well that's a relief. The doctors had told me that it looked like tonsillitis and prescribed me penicillin, also for an ear infection I have; she also took a swab of my throat to see is it was the streptococcus infection (strep throat) but I did not get told when the results would be back. My tonsils aren't as sore because I've been staying on top of pain relief and I've been taking the right dosage of antibiotic which my ear infection isn't as bad but tonsils haven't seemed to decrease in size. The white puss spots on my tonsils have also gotten whiter, what does this mean? Also thanks for your help, appreciate it a lot.

Im sure if your boyfriend had gono he would not have allowed you to give him oral sex as the pain would be to much and herpes would show up on the lips not the toncils. It would appear you have a case of strep throat. What did the doctors say it was?
