Symptoms after treatment

About 3 weeks ago I had a small amount of unprotected sex with an African American girl in the Caribbean.
About 3 days after I had a discomfort in my penis and a thick yellow discharge in the mornings, after about 1 week this discharge went clearer and had pain on urination.
Went to the doctor on return to the US and was told he was sure I had a co-infection of Gonnehrea and Chlmydia and gave me 1g of Azithromycin and 400mg of Cefixime. After 2 or 3 days the discharge was almost gone and the itchy was less, I did develop a mild yeast infection though.
I thought I was cured! However on day 5 I woke up with clear discharge penis itching and burning on urination, this only happens the first hour I am awake. I am now on day 7 and the same is happening, did my treatment fail?
The doctor gave me a second 1g Azithromycin as I am travelling but I am reluctant to take as most doctors online recommend doxycycline as the second round treatment.

So I shouldn't take any more antibiotics? I can't get tested again for 2 more weeks

Hi, a clear discharge is almost certainly mucus being created to sooth the damage done to the inside of your urethra from the infection. You can have it swabbed to confirm this.
