Syphilis.
Goodnight I would to get some advice on syphilis. How long does it for someone who it is tested positive for Syphilis.
My understanding is that there is resistance to Doxy and Zithromax but to Bacillin or Penicillin. I have been suffering for two years and initially only Doxy and then Levoflocin helped with reduction in auxiliary swelling. NP origionally prescribed my Cipro which does not help with syphilis but actually can cause a false negative on testing. After suffering for a year with it, I then got infected with trich, but the analyzer rarely pics up trich, so then I was being treated with more Zithromax, Doxy, Rioxine, for assumed chlamydia, which I probably had as well, but kept having Reiter's Syndrome type symptoms, but that was mostly from trich. Now I am realizing the girl had condyloma latus on her rectum, and what look like a syphilis rash all over her back and peeling feet that she was really self conscious about. I had just had two wisdom teeth cut out, was on morphine pills and was heart broken over my daughters mother running off with my child when I responded to an ad from the girl. Now I am waiting for a rapid self test in the mail to check to see if I test positive for syphilis after two years. I actually had gotten rid of the swelling in lymph nodes after treating with Levofloxacin but then got re-infected and it does not help now. I think the early use of oral doxcy helped me to limit the effects of my infection and mask it, but it did not rid it. I have had what appears to be swollen sweat glands on my face and profuse sweating since I had the lymph swelling. It is crazy how NP, PA's, Medical Doctors are simply dismissive in such situations.Then when a person has to start frantically looking for help on forums they get attacked. It is similar to when my son was born and he refused to latch for breastfeeding from his mother. I went on yahoo answers to ask for advice and people would lash out saying that babies do not refuse to latch or that their are not that many people with the problem. I tried to point out that their would likely be a large number of people with that problem who turned to that forum because it seemed to be the only resource people could find. Similar to this site for people with wrong diagnosis being dismissed by snotty medical people who literally seem to not care at all about providing care.I actually looked at my own semen under a microscope recently which confirmed that I have bacteria in my semen, so I have proctitis. It amazes me that my hospital would only want a prostate biopsy rather than a semen sample. So their is the sexism thing going on against treating males and people claim men die early rom not seeking treatment. I think it is more that treatment is not given when sought. I am not trying to bash anyone, I am trying to explain what it is like for many people who do suffer and are told by medical professionals that there is nothing wrong with them. If a person buys a thirty dollar microscope online and checks their own semen, if there are little pin head size things smaller than the sperm jumping around, odds are it is bacteria......

Well the treatment is for syphilis because I was still experiencing symptoms like sore throat and fever as a result he said that he has to give me a second dose of treatment. the burning sensation when urine and the warts were as a result of the syphilis.
Can you say if syphilis develops antibiotic resistance to the point where penicillin can no longer be used to kill them?

sounds like your provider is treating you again needlessly.

Goodday Grace my doctor is about to put me on another set of penicillin spots for the next 3 weeks one shot every week. He exam me and looked at the spots which he says are warts. He told me that my treatment will take a while longer before I start to see any improvements. The urine has bacteria that's why I am getting burns whenever I urinate. Thanks again for your advice. Does syphilis developed antibiotic resistance to the point where penicillin can no longer be used to kill them?
Hey Grace seen the doctor and it appears that the first treatment didn't work well because I am still experiencing the symptoms. So he is going to give me bck the doses for three week again. Any advice?

Can I masturbate while undergoing treatment for syphilis cause I have and been getting burning sensation when I ejaculate and when ever I urinate. Should I be worried that I am reinfection myself or that isn't possible?
Yes gracefromHHP I did and was told that it was because of the Syphilis. I have had this disease for more than 8 yrs. I am sure that I will have to do more treatment in the coming months. In a month's time when I will see the doctor again. I have seen a little improvement can't wait to get rid of this disease.
It has been a month now since I have been treated no severe cold sweating like before however the fever like symptoms are still present along with wart like spot on hands and back . At present when ever I urine or not I can feel a burning sensation. I am very worried I am sure the treat will take some time before I can see and feel much better. Any advise.
you should repeat your testing in 3 months if you are concerned that your syphilis wasn't cleared up. thankfully it responds well to treatment.

In August I was tested for both HIV and Syphilis, HIV came bck negative but my RPR came bck with a value of 1.16. I have experience symptoms like cold sweat, fever, abdominal pain and a few black spots on my skin and on my penis. I am concern besides that I have been on treatment since October I receive three shots 1 per week for 3 weeks. When do I go be to see the doctor? How long will the medication stay in my body? I have notice that the fever and cold sweating is going done but not completely.

your vdrl could be positive for weeks/months or even a lifetime. once you've had syphilis, we recommend confirmatory testing if your vdrl comes back as +.

I just contracted it myself a few weeks ago and have since done a lot of research on it... Takes about a week or so... But 2 to 3 weeks after getting it you should have some sores on or around your penis... dont take a chance get tested...
