Tiny bumps on the head of my penis nervous

I am a 22 year old male who recently had sex with a girl and the next day i noticed a couple swollen red bumps on the right side on the head of my penis. Then they quickly shrank in size to that of a pin sized.  Then slowly they spread in a half circle around the head of my penis.  I am circumcized.  They are redish pink color from the point it started on the right side and more flesh colored around to the left.  There is no pain and no itchying or burning.  I did however go to my doctor and he diagnosed me with a prostate infection because i had groin pain.  The pain is slowly getting better but the bumps are not going away.  He did not give me a direct anwser to what they are just told me not to worry about them.  He said it is definately not herpes.  And he said he has never seen gential warts look like what i have.  However he did not test me for any std.  He said it may be a yeast infection so he told me to put some over the counter anti-fungal cream.  I have been using the cream for a 2 weeks and there has been no improvment.  I have had the bumps for almost 2 months now.  They have not gotten any better or worse since they spread to the half circle around the head of my penis.  Its basically where the head and shaft meet but on the head. Sometimes when erect it looks like all the bumps are red and someone took a red marker and made tiny dots.  Since my doctor didnt give me a anwser to what it can be i am freaking out.  Please help.  Hopefully there is a cream i can use to make it go away.  I wake up everyday thinking i have std because i didnt get an anwser to what it may be.

Well, the prostatitis is a decent diagnosis, but I still don't like that he made that diagnosis with no testing.

As for the bumps, I have no idea.  If he thinks its yeast, you might be better off with a monistat or similar cream.  Ask the pharmacist what they recommend.

HPV/warts don't start out big and shrink back down.

I am using clotrimzole 1%.  Very curious what makes it not sound like HPV.  I am planning to call my doctor. But I will not be able to get in for awhile.

What cream are you using for the bumps?  If its a yeast cream, you might want to switch to something that's for other fungal infections, like jock itch.  Sometimes you just aren't using the right cream.

Its not herpes, it doesn't sound like HPV.  If you are so concerned, ask your doc to biopsy it to see what it is.

Thank you for your response.
Yes he put me on cipro anitbiotic for the infection and did a prostate exam.  The cipro seemed to have helped because i used to have a lot of groin pain and now it seems to be going away.   My main concern is to what the bumps could be or how to get ride of them!  Any help at all in this please.

It doesn't sound like an std, but I am concerned that your doctor only diagnosed you with prostatitis without doing any other testing.

Did he do a prostate exam?  If not, you need to have one done to make sure this is a prostate thing.

Are you on meds for the infection?  If you are, and you aren't getting much relief after 4 months, perhaps its time to see a urologist.
