Treated 1G Azithromycin / 250 Rocephin - Dripping Discharge Persists

Good Background: 30 yr, healthy, heterosexual, male, hiv- & syph-
"Bad" Background:  Daily unprotected sex with Filipina prostitutes for ~180 days ending on Nov 15, 2010.

Jan 3rd, 2010 visited a USA std clinic after two days of very minor yellowish penile discharge. (This was 50 days from the last time I had sex.) PCP gave the standard 1g of oral Azithromycin and a 250mg shot of Rocephin.

Now, one week later, the symptoms should be gone but in fact they have strangely gotten much worse.  Penile discharges now are pronounced, occurring multiple times per day, causing the need to use kleenex as an underwear liner.

My non medical guess is that I have NGU and that I should take Doxycyclene 100mg 3/day x 10day and Metronidazole 500mg 2/day x 10day (both of which I have on hand) but I'd love to get your medical advice first.

Thank You.

Update: I visited the doctor today Jan 12, 2011.  Was prescribed Bactrim 2/day for 10 days to treat a male UTI.  I gave them a urine sample but still no results back from my previous swab test or todays test.

Vance & Grace: thanks for the help!

definitely follow up with your provider for more testing. I wouldn't self treat at this point.

You should follow up with a Dr for some testing. And do you mean Jan 3rd 2011?

You need to test for all STD's and HIV. HIV is a 3 month test.
