Unusual Vulvar Symptoms

Hi,

I have been having some confusing symptoms on my vulva which have been relatively mild, but have been noticeable and therefore disconcerting. About a week and a half ago,  I noticed a 'warm' feeling on my vulva, almost as if I had just applied lotion. I ignored it, until I noticed that I also had a dull ache in my vagina that lasted for a few days, similar to the feeling the day after having sex. I then noticed that in between where my labia minora and labia majora meet, there was a redness, and it was almost raw-looking. It was the same length and on both sides of my vulva. It almost looked as if someone had taken their nails and scratched me on either side. I never had any blisters, and these (sores? scratches?) were not painful to the touch. After I noticed these, for 1-2 days, my vulva was very slightly irritated and had sort of a chafed feeling all over, not just where the redness was. The mild pain subsided, and I decided to examine myself. I found something that was rather alarming... I have these strange whitish/gray patches that cannot be washed off on the deepest folds of my inner labia, and well as in my vagina, it has sort of a whitish gray cast to it. Other parts of my inner labia had a pink sort of shiny patch that was not at all irritated feeling but was located next to these gray patches. This has not gone away.  I have had no itching, no burning while urinating.

I have also had a lot of energy, no flu-like symptoms, and no gland swelling. What could this be? I am freaking myself out thinking that I have some sort of vulvar cancer or chronic lichen problem, but given all of my symptoms, what does this sound like to you?

You need to set an apt. with your GYN to look at the grey/whitish patches this could be something or nothing...

You don't say what your risk is. can you tell us so we can assist with assessing your risk?

I forgot to add that as of now (1.5 weeks later) I have no symptoms of any irritation. the only thing that remains is the gray patches.
