correct - hsv2 is the risk from protected sex.
either bring a paintbrush to PA and help me paint or put on some knee pads and help weed my garden :) Both will keep your mind off your nether regions and exhaust you to the point where you forgot you had something to worry about :)
Thanks Grace and you are correct. Roaming the Internet is freaking me out. I will take you advice and stay away from searching for symptoms and try to ease my mind.
In regards to stds that I have to worry about, when you say herpes I am assuming you mean hsv 2, since I get cold sores already, correct?
Hi Grace,
It has been 28 days since post exposure and have a doctors appointment for Monday. I am getting the STD panel test and the RAPID TEST (too early?).
I am just writing because in the past 2 weeks my legs and buttocks have been feeling very sore. I feel sore when I sit or stand and my legs especially the back of the thighs feels like they are being stretched when I walk. If I am laying down, they feel like they are tingling.
My mouth has been dry a lot lately and it feels like I am having trouble swallowing. I have been having green bowel movement and sometime diarhea. Sometimes I cough too. Are these signs of anything or is anxiety causing this? Can anxiety cause this?
Should I be concerned? Sorry to bother you with more questions after so long.
too early to be accurate for anything but gonorrhea, chlamydia and trich.
usually just itching is jock itch or irritation.
Sorry about writing again but my anxiety just shot up another level. I read I can get a 8 STD test as early as 7 days from LabCorp. Is this correct or is that too early for any STDs?
I am sure this is purely my anxiety but my penile head has been itching alot currently. Is that cause for concern?
Again, my apologizes
is it likely you contracted syphilis, herpes or hpv from these encounters? no but since you are married, your partner deserves you getting tested for what you can at the proper times to properly cover your bases.
condoms aren't much help for reducing transmission of syphilis, herpes or hpv. totally up to you if you want to have sex or protected sex with your regular partner until you can get all your testing done.
you having hsv1 orally is not a std. it doesn't have any bearing on your risk of a std.
grace
Sorry to ask another follow up but I guess my main worry is passing anything to my wife.
If I have protected sex with her, is it safe?
1. I gave you detail on risk it's your call to have sex or not.
2. No HSV-1 has nothing to do with the risk or lack of risk you had
More herpes info post in the herpes forum.
Also, if I already have herpes in the mouth, I have to worry about it somewhere else too? Sorry to post again but just thought of it.
Sorry to follow up. You lifted the biggest load off my shoulders!!
2 Questions:
1. Should I abstain from sex from my wife until I get tested or is protected sex okay until I get tested or it doesn't matter?
2. Even though vaginal fluid got in contact with my HSV-1 sore, I had protected sex? The sore was just scabbing and red. It could have gotten wet from the table wash. I hear that getting STDs are alot easier if you already have one that is active. With white cells so close to the surface, won't STDs, HIV have a lot easier time getting in?
Again, thank you so much!
1. No not from protected sex, really no real risk.
2. Don't look for anything, I bet your current "symptoms" are anxiety based
3. From protected sex I see no need for testing. But if you must only possible risk is Syphilis-6 weeks, Herpes-3 months and HPV-no test in men
4. No risk
Suggest you seek a therapist to help you deal with anxiety and guilt.
everything sounds anxiety related that you are experiencing right now. turn off the computer and go live life! stay active and have fun!!! not worth worrying about things that you can't change at this point. just follow up on your testing at the proper times to be as responsible a partner as you can be at this point.
