uti's in males are uncommon. hard to tell if he needed further testing from what he had done or not.  trich will cause uti like symptoms in males so it all depends on what testing he had done as to if being given additional antibiotics for uti treatment was proper or not.

trich can be passed back and forth in a couple. If you are still having itching, something is going on so you should still be avoiding sex at this point until you've been seen and had a further work up done.

My doctor recommended being abstinent from 7-10 days after being on antibiotic for an std.....to make sure you're not passing it back and forth. I don't think it matters with his UTI, unless its uncomfortable for him.

ok thanks so much.. ill go to my ob again for further check up...

i have another question, after i was diagnosed with std, my ob prescribed my husband with the same antibiotic assuming that it was my husband who transmit to me bacteria...(i had also an encounter with an old friend twice).. so, i let him take the same medicine but im worried..what if he has no bacteria and i am asking him to take the same.... so after 3days of taking the same medicine, i asked my husband to go for a urinalysis.. i went to a different doctor to explain to me the result, and he said YOUR HUSBAND HAS A UTI... so, he prescribed an antibiotic to him.

if it's been more than a week after you finished the medication and you are still having vaginal itching constantly, return to be seen again for repeat testing.

Probably not, medication can often cause a yeast infection.
