It can be indicative of an STI notably gonorrhoea and chlamydia. Pain and specifically burning sensation during sex is a common symptom experienced by women with one or the other of these infections. I would recommend testing at a dedicated clinic at the nearest opportunity. This doesn't mean you definately have an STI though as there are other causes of the symptom you describe. What is you sexual history so we can determine your risk a bit better?
